How many times have you said "if only I could do this or if only I could do that how different  life would be" well , join the club as I personally have a whole package of disabilities starting with chronic bronchitis and emphysema that requires me to use a nebuliser three times a day and various other drugs to help with my breathing , chronic arthritis in all my joints making walking very painful , and it doesn't help by the fact I am 27 stone making exercise almost impossible but I am quite aware that compared with some people I am actually not to bad at all and with a bit of forethought I can do lots of the things that I originally thought  I couldn't do . For instance I have always been scared of going anywhere that I couldn't be certain that my nebuliser would work until I bought an inverter that just plugs into the cigarette lighter socket in the car and then converts the 12 volt to 240 volt I just plug my neb into that and hey presto I can breath again .If anyone reading this has the same problems with breathing have a look at AAIR I found this site very helpful and full of information. The arthritis is a bit different and takes a bit of planning and a lot more effort , I tend to pitch my van either within yards of the toilet block allowing me to walk , or far enough away from the toilet block so that I can use the car without people thinking that I am just idle , I think most disabled people without an obvious disability would have had  that comment targeted at them at some time . I have also found a swimming pool in my area Stoke On Trent that caters for people with disabilities with three special sessions a week and I am now finding it a lot easier to exercise and the water makes things a lot easier on the joints and my breathing also seems to be getting better . In this section I would like to feature anything to help people with disabilities to get a fuller life than they are presently getting and with this in mind I would ask anyone with any feedback or suggestions to post on the message board  or e-mail me and I will gladly post things for you . There are a few sites that give good ideas on the web one of them being Disability World  , based in Fife Scotland this site has loads of information for disabled people . Caravan Site finder has a interesting page for the disabled listing a lot of sites with special facilities . Or have a look at how Peter and Wendy cope they tell all in there web site . Below you will find many links to help with your travels so have fun remember tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life .

SUDDENLY SENIOR

"Suddenly Senior," a new weekly 'zine and humor column, speaks to the hearts and funny bones of 50- to 90-year-olds who¹ve 'became senior before their time.' "That's all of us," says author, Webmaster and chief bottle washer, Frank Kaiser. "Even Boomers now joining us need a voice to echo their deepest feelings, hopes and fears - someone reporting from the front lines of the profound experience of becoming a geezer. ŒSuddenly Senior¹ provides reassurance with warmth, humor, and honesty." Topics include nostalgia, sex now and then, even droll rants about social security and job discrimination. It's a fresh, funny look at seniordom. It says to my generation, ŒYou¹re not alone feeling that way. It¹s OK. Enjoy! The site includes "This Week's Best Jokes," The World's 111 Best Links," and dozens of fascinating senior viewpoints by various American seniors.
