Quick Facts:
For a long time KISS stated that one day their vintage shows will be available. It's finally here and it was worth the wait. Four complete classic concerts plus rare TV appearances and stuff never before seen by anyone. Each concerts and TV appearances has an audio commentary introduction by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley recorded only for this DVD. The first pressing of this DVD all included one bonus disc. Wal*Mart in the USA had Largo 1977. Best Buy USA had the Detroit 1976 disc and all the other dealers had MSG 1977 as well as every store in Canada. The Largo and Detroit shows were the most wanted by fans because of their somewhat rarity. Also Largo was for many unknown. As for Detroit it includes "Ladies In Waiting" a song played maybe only five or six times live. Since a lot of these concerts are old and were filmed on cheap tapes, the image quality is not great, but it's OK this way, I don't think it would've been fair to remaster the image. Yes some bootlegs have better image but not the sound. As for the TV appearances, they most likely went to the original source and it's the best they could get and it's really good. The booklet is great with quotes from the band members from the beginning of KISS. Back cover indicates the first disc to run 3 hours 23 mins, but it runs at 3 hours 2 mins (with the bonus track). This series is slated for 3 volumes but Gene Simmons stated recently and often that he would like it to be 10 volumes, I think 5 volumes would be quite enough. A MUST for all KISS fans, at $25 for 6 hours of music it's a no-brainer.
