Memorial Community Centre

St. George, Ontario

This is a poster of the show

For our third show we played in St. George at the Memorial Community Centre again. This was a really good venue to play. There was alot of room for quite a few people. There was probably about 60 people at this show, making it one of our largest. There was nine bands playing that night. A band that wasn't on the poster called Violent played first I think. I don't remember what order most of the bands came on stage. Because there was so many bands everyone had about 30 minuets to play. Dave's Backyard broke up a day before the show so they were off the list. There was another band called Black Albino which I don't remember much about. Next was Gomphus this was their last show they would ever play. Digital Curtis, Slow Klone, Circle Theorem, Earthlings, they started out with a song I don't know then went into, When I was 4 years Old, Small Magnets, Love Song, Dr. Drink, Deathstar (with Vic Moya as a special guest) and ended their show off with a cover of Louis Louis. I remember the order of the last three bands.

Dirge, we started out pretty bad. Jamie our drummer kept on falling off of his drum stool because he was baked on pot. We tried to start about three or four times before we actually go into Sunone, he didn't even know when the songs stopped and just kept drumming. Eventually we got into our next song So Plain, then Crap, Sleep Away, Anthony Power Of 7, Cosmic Cow, with Dale Dunn of Keilidescope fame as the honorary Cosmic Cow. The drummer of Slow Klone then came up and said if he was the Cosmic Cow then he was the Funky Chicken. Finally we ended with Out Of The Cave and Into The Light.

Dianthus video of that night

Next up was Dianthus which had Paul Evans of Second Wave drumming. Finally to finish the night was Furry Ongion. They started the night with 5/4, then Wild Waltz, their cover of Drop the Big One (I don't remember who really played this song), It Felt So Good, Semi Lunar Valve, Should Have Been Aborted, Blue Print (Fugazi), Radiance, they then ended their set with Patty.

This show was really fun to play. Before we went on Jeff and Rob had a hard time getting in and trying to prove to the door guy that they were actually in a band that was about to play a show. This made other people at the door say the same thing. In the end the show actually made a lot of money. Unfortunately we never saw very much of it because someone smashed the window for the door downstairs and all the band had to pay for it. Then we were all told we could never book the hall again. Thanks a lot to whoever smashed the door!
