Master
Lairen Li

Master Lairen Li was
born in Wenzhou City in China. His grandfather started teaching
him Nanqan, Shaolin Luohanquan and Shaolin Qinna when he was only
eight years olds. Later on, he learned Baguazhang and Iron Palm
from Master Xu Jinsheng. In 1983, Master Li when to Chenjiagou in
Hunan Province to study Chen Style Taijiquan (Old-frame), push-hand
and pole-shaking under the 10th Generation Chen Style Taijiquan
Master Zhu Tiancai. Master Li later became a disciple of Master
Feng Zhiqiang, and 18th Generation Chen Style Taijiquan Master and
a Master of Xinyi Liuhe Qigong. Under the guidance of Master Feng,
Master Li honed his skills in Taijiquan, Qigong, push-hand, combat
fighting and the use of weapons, Subsequently, Master Li learned
internal alchemy, sitting meditation, breathing exercises, Tianyuan
Qigong and Hunyuan standing meditation from Taoist Master Qingyuan.
Under the tutelage and guidance of the these highly accomplished
masters, Master Li committed himself to perfecting his mind and
body by refining his command of both the outward movementand the
inner spirit of the arts. Through decades of arduous training, exploration
and dedicated research, he eventually progressed from intuiting
the Tao to understanding the Tao, from an intuitive grasp of martial
art to an understanding of its true nature. By synthesizing the
best of Nanquan, Shaolin, Taijiquan and Qigong, Master Li is able
to attain a level of cosmic-human connection that embraces Taiji
with Wuji, the Ultimate Limit and the Limitless.
In 1993, Master Li immigrated
to Canada. With the help of a few good friends and dedicated disciples,
he established the Chen Style Taijiquan Workshop of Canada in Toronto
in 1997, with himself serving as the chief instructor. Branch schools
were later opened in Ottawa, Brampton and the United States. Over
the years, Master Li has accepted dozens of disciples and trained
hundreds of excellent students across Canada, United States, Hong
Kong and other places of the world. He has visited the United States
numerous times to teach Taijiquan and Qigong and has earned much
respect and praise from Taijiquan enthusiasts. Accordingly, Master
Li has become a recognized and influential authority in the field
both inside and outside of China.
