Chen
Style Taijiquan Workshop of Canada: A Brief Introduction
Chen Style Taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan)
is a major style in Chinese martial arts as well as one of the oldest
and richest styles. Other forms of Taijiquan, such as Yang, Wu,
Hao and Sun are all derived from Chen style. It is based on the
ancient I Ching and Yin-Yang transformation principles, incorporating
theories from Chinese medicine, mechanics, psychology, the circulation
of vital energy, breathing exercises and martial techniques. The
discipline is widely recognized for nurturing spiritual development,
honing the body and the mind, and providing self-defense training.
With its rich heritage in ancient Chinese culture and its inherent
grace and humanity, not to mention the promise of limitless internal
energy and martial prowess, knowledge of Taijiquan has been treasured
and pursed by people from all walks of life.
The Chen Style Taijiquan
Workshop of Canada is committed to perpetuating the essence of Taijiquan
through a teaching method that combines scientific theory and practical
training. In terms of understanding nature, the cosmos and the human
body, the Workshop provides a multitude of spiritual resources,
including valuable everyday wisdom for the ultimate pursuit of human
vitality and moral well-being. Students derive benefits in a variety
of ways, progressing from sickness to health, from health to fitness,
from fitness to the cultivation of life. Through this gradual process,
it is possible to strive towards a connection between the cosmic
and human.
The Chen Style Taijiquan
Workshop of Canada takes virtue, cultivation, medicine and martial
training as its principles. It does not discriminate between students
of different lineages or religions, nor does it promote secrecy
or esotericism. Instead, we believe in openness, camaraderie, hard
facts and real kung fu, so the Workshop can be a locus of genuine
friendship. We aim to attract honorable and dedicated talents and
help them develop a strong foundation as well as excellent skills.
Students thus become core members of the Workshop, helping to teach
and promote Chen Style Taijiquan and Qigong exercises in Canada.
And by engaging the international Taijiquan community, they can
elevate the reputation and stature of the Workshop.
