Evaluation Rubric

Robotics and Technology   Math   Science   Language Learning

Assessment for this unit should be on-going and diverse.  Students will be assessed on several levels, including:
  • Anecdotal Notes from construction time and class discussions.
  • Evaluation of the quality and content of the prototype folders and web-based proposals.
  • Quality of Robot construction and programming.
  • Ability to reflect upon learning process in reflections journal.
Rubrics are categorized by Core subject area and are ranked by number.
  • One (1) specifies excellence.
  • Two (2) above average
  • Three (3) at grade level (satisfactory)
  • Four (4) below average
  • Five (5) incomplete
  • These numbers follow the grading pattern of the Calgary Board of Education report cards. Aligning reporting schemes  helps children to understand and keep track of their marks more easily.
