Here are some parts of a Loyola School brouchre, published in 1959. Now how many of us knew that Loyola had 300 pupils in 1952? If you didnt, this page is a must for you! Thanks Hardy for these wonderful pics... now I know what the word 'treasure' truly means!
"Jai Loyola", the school newspaper, being composed by its student publishers. |
"Integral Calculus". On the left is Father Dineen, an expert at advanced maths at Loyola for over two decades. |
Assembly in 1958. Nine hundred minds and hearts raised to God: Loyola's day begins |
Loyola Science Lab in 1958. On the left is Father Kirsch, an expert at Physics at Loyola. Most of the equipent in the science lab (ground floor/Northern part of the school building) had been "home-produced" according to his plans. |
"Yes, Loyola School, at present, is in debt." Read all about it in an interview (part 1 and part 2) with Rev. Fr. Hess (Then the Rector of Loyola School) in 1958. Besides the interview, part 1 has a photo of Fr. Hess and part 2 has a photo of the principal's office, with the legendary Mr Rao who was in charge there for many, many years. His son, Mr Arun, was in charge of the biology department and a very popular teacher. |

A Geography Lesson. (Is that Fr. Dietrich in the picture???) |
The Indian Music Club. Music on the Red Stage.
So whats up at the Red Stage lately? The Red Stage has served as the 'ultimate' punishment in the recent years. It is reserved for those students who deserve the severest of punishments: A humiliating afternoon, standing at the Red Stage. And why is it called the "Red Stage"? Well... Because its Red, for heaven's sake! |
