NEXT FIXTURE: Brown Cup Final vs Musselburgh, at Sauchie, 29/5/04. KO 2:30pm. The BUs' first cup final in over three years pits them against Division One club Musselburgh. Bo'ness are bound to start as favourites, and indeed won both the meetings between the clubs last season, but Musselburgh are more than capable of springing a surprise and come into the match with some impressive recent results under their belt, including a thrashing of Camelon away from home and a 5-1 win over Sauchie in the semi final of this competition. Below-par BUs grind out draw at Arniston
30/8/03 The most appropriate adjective for Bo'ness United's performance at Arniston would probably be "dreadful" - but still, they came out of the match with a respectable point following a 0-0 draw. Read the report here.

Reports available
3/9/03 The reports for the games against Oakley and Camelon are now available for perusal. Anyone who still wants to read about last season's Scottish semi-final against Linlithgow now can - for after months of self-censorship, I have now edited the original report down to the level of mere blatant bias.

(All last season's reports can still be read under the Previous Seasons section. The only remaining absentee is the Fife & Lothians Cup tie at Edinburgh, which I promise is coming. Because I know you care about it seven months on.)

BUs trounce Bonnyrigg to celebrate flag day
23/8/03 The improvement continues. On the day that Bo'ness were presented with their flag for winning last season's East District Division One, they also scored their firsy competitive win under Jimmy Sandison, hammering Bonnyrigg Rose 5-1 at Newtown Park. The goals came from Graeme Donald, David Muirhead (two penalties), Gordon Abbott and Martin Mooney. Read the report here. (Camelon and Oakley reports very soon. I can assure you that the speed of reporting has no relation to the fact Bo'ness did not win those games!)

16/8/03 Bo'ness drew 2-2 at Fife club Oakley in their first fixture in the East Super League, with the BU goals coming in the second half from David Muirhead (penalty) and Gordon Abbott. Again, report to follow.

Camelon brush aside BUs in League Cup
12/8/03 Two first half goals and a third after the interval were enough to allow visiting Camelon to easily see off a very disappointing Bo'ness United at Newtown Park. The defeat, in their first competitive game of the campaign, eliminates Bo'ness from the League Cup. Report to follow.

Read the report here.
