| I never thought that I would actually see this day, its more perfect than I had ever dreamed. And to think that I only met him a few months ago. ~~~~~ flashback ~~~~~ It was August 1st of 2002, and it was eight days before my 21st birthday. I name is Sydney Taylor. Like always I was planning to go out with my best friends for my birthday, like we all did every year on our birthdays. This year however was different. I knew that we were all going out for the evening but this time I didnt know where exactly we were going. And unfortunately no one would tell me either. Not even on my birthday all they kept saying is that it was a surprise and that Id love it. "Syd!!!! Lets go, I told you you had to be ready by 5!" My best friend Ali was at my house for the past hour screaming this over and over again, and what makes it worse is that its only 4:45, it wasnt even 5 yet. "I know Ali, I thought that Id have till at least 5 before youd start saying that wed be late." I walked down the steps of my two floor apartment in a classic black mini skirt, baby blue halter and knee high stiletto boots. "Does this meet your approval for where were going tonight?" I asked while I put my earring in. "Yes." "Can you at least give me a hint as to where were going tonight?" I was still hoping that is I asked her enough that she might tell me. "Sorry but like I said before its a surprise and youll love it. Trust me." I always hated it when she said trust me, that means shes up to something and its never good. "Oh I almost forgot, you have to put this on." A long thick black scarf was pulled from Ali's purse. "We dont want you to peek and figure out the surprise before we get there now do we?" Stepping behind me she covered my eyes with the black silk scarf and tied it snugly so that it wouldnt fall off. "Ok you know you have to help me to the car now cause if not I'm gunna fall flat on my face and that will not be a good way to start my birthday." Reaching out to try to see if I could find her arm before I fell. " I know, I have your arm just let me lead and youll be fine." Walking out of the apartment, she muttered "Trust Me" again. "I really hate it when you say that." Once we got into the car we were off, I dont know exactly how long the drive was because I didnt see the time before I was blindfolded but I'd say that we drove for about a half hour or so. "Alright were here." Ali opened the car door and tugged my arm so that I would know to slowly step out of her Tracker "Let me take off the blind fold, we dont need it at the moment." As the blind fold was lowered from my eyes I saw that we were at a local place called Whistles, "What do you mean that we dont need it at the moment?" "Exactly what I just said, we dont need it till after were done here." Three parking spots away were a few of our close friends, it appeared that they had just arrived as well. "Hey its our favorite birthday girl." I shot Mike, Aron, and JJ a look that would make the devil run and hide. "Ok sorry we mean woman." "Thank you guys." Hugs were exchanged by everyone. "Wait someones missing." "Im back here." A soft voice said from behind Mike. "Kris I didnt think you were gunna make it." Im not really close with a lot of my family but I tell my younger cousin Kristen just about everything. Although shes only 18, she comes to all the birthday outings. Shes kool. "Ok since its my birthday I say we go in and eat, Im starving. I didnt get a chance to eat anything today." "Why?" Mike asked on the way to the door. "Cause either Ali was at my house or on the phone with me all day either discussing what I was going to wear or yelling at me to remind me that I had to be ready to leave by five." I said with a little laugh in my voice. "Enough, lets just eat." Ali exclaimed, obviously not too enthused about my pervious comment. We sat down and ate a wonderful dinner and listened to some live music by the house band. Since it was a "party" we all ordered drinks, even Kris had one. Kris, Ali and myself all had cosmopolitans and the guys had beers followed with some shots. "Alright are we ready to get out of here?" Ali asked the question to everyone but me "If we dont leave soon were gunna be late." "Sorry but you have to put back on the blindfold again." Mike took the blindfold from Ali and covered my eyes, although I wasn't too thrilled to have it back on again. ~~~~~ "Ok we're here. But this time you have to wait till were inside till you can take off the blindfold." I could sense a bit of enjoyment in Ali's voice, I started to think that she would probably like this part more than I would. Mike and Aron lead me through the doors and to what sounded like a club. I later found out that it was in fact a club, Tinks. I was then lead upstairs and into a quiet room. I was placed into a seat and the blindfold was taken off of my eyes to reveal three blonde guys sitting about three feet in front of me. I never thought that I would be meeting my favorite band of all time, and not with this group of people especially. I was sitting in a room with Hanson. "Hi, I guess you must be Sydney." Isaac, the oldest brother and guitar player said. "Yeah I am. Its nice to meet you." I said as he came over and gave me a hug. "Happy Birthday" he whispered into my ear and then gave me a kiss right in front of my ear, so that no one would notice. "Well we have a set in a few minutes so our body guard will escort you and your guests to your table in front and then after the show youll be brought back up to this room to hang out with us if thats kool." Taylor said as he stood up. "Yeah that'd be great. Thank you." All six of us were escorted to a table right in front of the stage. I wasnt quite in the center it was more towards the left, well my left that is. A few moments later the band came out into the stage and started to perform. The set was opened with the first single released off of their debut album Middle of Nowhere, MMMBop. They performed about 20 songs in a span of two hours talking a bit in between. After the show the bodyguard took us back up to the room we were in before the show. It was about 10-15 minutes before the band had come into the room. They asked if we liked the show and said that they were going out to get something to eat and asked if you would like to join them. " I have work tomorrow morning and Mike has class so I think were gunna get going, well talk to you tomorrow Syd," Aron said. "Ok then. Kris do you have to be home at a certain time?" I asked "Nope so I thought that I would hang out with you guys tonight and go home tomorrow," Kris said "Ok no problem, so who all is stayin just Me, Ali, and Kris?" "Yeah, cause I have to get goin to so I'll talk to you tomorrow, happy birthday," JJ said. We gave hugs to all the guys and they left. "So are you ready to go?" Isaac came over and placed his hand on the small of my back to get my attention from the door. "Im ready if you are." I put my hand around his back and gave him a look that said I was ready to party. Since the guys were hungry, and it was around 10:30, we decided to go to Dennys. Since no ones ever there that late we would basically have the place to ourselves. It was only the six of us so we decided to go and sit in the back corner, its was more private, plus we didnt have any bodyguards if someone came in so. Well we sat in, I guess you could say somewhat of a couples arrangement, Isaac sat on the end, I sat next to him, then it was Ali, Tay, Zac then Kris. I dont think any of us had a problem with it though. After dinner we went back to their hotel room, to watch tv and just hang out for a while. I think Ali, Kris and I finally got back to my place at about 6 am, when the guys got a wake-up call from their body guard. We all fell asleep watching tv, Ali was on the couch with Tay, Kris was on the floor with Zac and Isaac and I fell asleep on the bed. Isaac and I really hit it off so we exchanged numbers before we left their room that morning and about three hours I got a call on my cell phone, he wanted to say hi. I know that Kris and Zac are really good friends and if Im not mistaken I think that Ali might just have a thing for Taylor. It seemed that the guys were about 3/4 of the way through a tour to promote their new album so initially it was difficult to talk to Isaac with the schedule that they had. But about a month after I first met them I got a peculiar phone call. "Hey hun." "Isaac? Omg hi." I was totally psyched to hear from him. "What are you, Ali and Kris doing for like the next month?" "Well Kris is going to be starting school in few weeks, and Ali and I both have work why?" "We want you to come on tour with us, I miss you and it would be great if you all could come." "Id have to check with work, Ali and Kris' mom first." "Well call me back when you know. I Love You." "ok I will, I Love You too." I couldnt believe that he just asked me to come and see him on tour. Luckily everything worked so that the three of us could all go on tour with them, Kris could only stay for three weeks as a result of school but there were only four weeks on the tour left total so she wouldnt miss to much. It was totally awesome being on tour with them, I met his family and I had a All Access pass so I could do whatever I wanted to and best of all when they werent rehearsing Isaac and I would go up on stage and I would pretend that I was singing in front of the crowds that packed the arenas night after night for Hanson. It was the last week of the tour and by this time Kris had already gone home and had started school. The guys got more rowdy that last week of the tour than they did at any other time. The last venue they performed at was pretty big, considering that Ali and I had been to all these venues the past four weeks and that we knew the set and everything by heart we decided to walk around during the beginning of the show. They performed With You In Your Dreams about 3/4 of the way through the show so about half way through Ali and I slowly made our way back to the side of the stage with their parents and younger siblings. This is the only time that they didnt follow the schedule. They stopped performing right before With You In Your Dreams, and I hear my name being called from the stage. Taylor was calling my name and since I hadnt walked out Isaac came back and grabbed my hand and walked me out onto the center of the stage, where a mic and stool had been set up. "As I said before this is Isaacs girlfriend, Sydney. It seems that it has always been a dream of hears to perform in front at a live venue. And we thought that since all of our fans are so nice that you wouldn't mind if she sang a song for you." Taylor spoke into his mic. "Uh Tay, if its ok with you guys and the crowd Id like to do two songs." my hands were shaking uncontrollably. "Is it ok with you guys?" Taylor yelled into the crowd all he got in response was a loud piercing scream. "I think you know what the first one is gunna be guys so, lets do it." the opening notes so Selenas Dreaming Of You were played and although I had total stage fright once the music started I closed my eyes and suddenly everything was perfect and right. "Dreamin with you tonight............................." the last notes fell to just the sound of the music behind me and then the applaud and screams of the crowd. "Well I know that you guys were only expecting me to do one song but there is one that I want to perform with someone. Taylor do you mind if Isaac borrows your keyboard for a few minutes?" Right away he knew exactly what song I wanted to perform, and I think the crowd did as well since they suddenly started to scream. "I know that all you guys out there know this song. So you have to do me one favor and that is you have to sing with me, well rather us ok?" the roar was overpowering. I moved my stool next to the piano and told Isaac that I wanted to perform More Than Anything. After I sang the second chorus Isaac sang the next two verses, he kept looking from the keyboard to me. As the song ended Isaac stood and took a mic in hand, he led me to the center of the stage, another stool had been placed there, which leads me to believe that this had been planned out. I sat on the stool and he got down on one knee.... "Sydney you know I love you more than anything and it would make me the happiest man on the earth if you would be my wife." I was taken back, I had only known him for a little over one month and he was proposing to me. It took me only one second maybe not even that long to say yes. He placed the most gorgeous engagement ring upon my finger and then stood up and kissed me. I walked off to the side of the stage where I was hugged by Ali and his mother then the rest of the family that was there. I watched as the guys finished the rest of the show. ~~~~~ "Ali I cant believe that only four months ago you took me out for my birthday and I met Isaac and now were getting married." Ali was in the room with me at the church helping me fix my veil. "Do you have the vows you have written?" Ali enquired. "Yes." "Ok, then lets go and get you married." I was greeted at the door by my father, as he slowly walked me down the isle I saw all of my family, his family, and our friends there to share this with us. And Isaac was at the end of that isle waiting for me. I reached the end of the isle and handed my bouquet off to my maid of honor, Ali, and cause a smile upon her face as well as one the bridesmaids faces, Kris. "Clarke and Sydney have prepared their own vows," the minister said to our family and friends. "Sydney has asked to read hers first." "Clarke I love you more than anything........." |
