"Honey, please, just listen to me!" Lance pleaded with his girlfriend of three years, Danni.

"No, Lance, that was the last time," she said, putting a shirt into a suitcase.

"Danni please don't leave, I need you!" Lance said, taking the shirt out of the suitcase and putting it back into the closet.

"Lance, you do not need me here, you have everything else, you do not need me," Danni replied, taking the shirt out of the closet and putting it back in her suitcase.

"I don't want everything else, I want you!"

"No you don't.  If you did, then you'd make more then ten minutes a month for me.  I'm sorry Lance, but I have to go now," she said, shutting the suitcase and turning to go, leaving Lance sitting on their bed, dumbfounded by what had just happened.

"She was my once in a lifetime, happy ending come true, oh I guess I should've told her, I thought she knew.  She said I took her for granted, that's the last thing I would do, oh I'll never understand it, I thought she knew."  Lance was thinking about Danni again.  Even after nearly six months, he was still not over her.  He was just going through the motions onstage and in interviews, but no one caught on yet.  When he had proclaimed that he was once again single, his fans loved him even more for it.  But he hated himself for not telling Danni that he loved her.

"I thought she knew my world revolved around her, my love light burned for her alone, but she couldn't see the flame, only myself to blame, I should have known, I should have known."  He should have known.  He loved her with all his heart, and he rarely told her.  He knew he should have more often, but he was always busy.  He wanted to be with her so bad.  He was quite possibly nearing a nervous breakdown, but only the guys knew.

"A heart full of words left unspoken, now that we're through, I'd sell my soul to have this silence broken, oh I thought she knew, I thought she knew."  The two people that were more in love than Romeo and Juliet were now not speaking.  Lance hadn't said a word to her since she left that day.  And she apparently didn't want to converse with him either.  Just to hear her voice again, Lance would give anything.  He would give up anything, his career, his fans, his life, just to hear her sweet voice again.  To hear her laugh, to hear her sing with him to Just Got Paid and laugh at Joey's little "dance" to the chorus, just to hear her voice again.  Her high soprano singing voice was the perfect compliment to his deep voice.  He still remembered how her and Chris would have contests to see who could hit the higher note.  Believe it or not, they always tied.

I thought she knew my world revolved around her, my love light burned for her alone, but she couldn't see the flame, only myself to blame, I should have known, I should have known.  She was my once in a lifetime, happy ending come true, oh I guess I should have told her, but I thought she knew.  I thought she knew, I thought she knew.  Oh I thought that she knew."

"Man, you have GOT to get over her!" JC said, pacing in front of Lance's couch, where he sat.  "It's not healthy.  Get youself out of this slum.  That's it, you're going to a party with me and Joey, whether you want to or not."

"What?  JC, I am not in a partying mood," Lance said.  "Today was supposed to be out four-year anniversary.  I don't wanna go out and party, I'd rather just sit her and sulk, thank you very much."

"That's just too damn bad, cause you're going.  Now either you get ready, or you're going like you are.  And I'm sure you don't wanna go in boxers, so you better get changed."

Lance gave in because of all people, JC would be the one to drag him somewhere wearing boxers and a t-shirt.  After twenty minutes, three fifths of 'N Sync were pulling up to a house in JC's jeep.  People were spilling out of the front door onto the front lawn, it was so crouded.

"Why am I here?" Lance asked himself as he pushed through the croud to the kitchen in search of a drink.

"NO!  Caroline, I DO NOT wanna stay here, I wanna go home," a familiar female voice shouted over the music.

Lance looked up from the cooler in search of the owner of the voice.  "You didn't tell me they were gonna play Just Got Paid.  I wanna go home now, before I remember...  Nevermind.  Please take me home?"

"Danni?"

She looked up to see Lance standing above her.  "Lance... why... how..."

"What are you doing here?" they asked in unison.

"JC dragged me," Lance said.

"Caroline dragged me.  Something tells me we were set up for something," Danni said, watching JC and Caroline talking and smiling at Lance and Danni.

"Yeah."  Lance cleared his throat.  "Danni, we really have to talk."

"What happened to us Lansten?  I thought you loved me," Danni said, nearing tears as they walked to the deserted backyard.

"I did," he said, "and I still do.  Danni, please forgive me for what I did.  I'm sorry, I love you."

She was silent a moment before looking into his eyes and answering.  "Lance, I have loved you for years.  I still want to be with you, and that's why I'm giving you one more chance."
