OPOSSUM    -   DIVERSION
Opossum reminds you that the situation you are in may require you to act a way you do not feel.  Sometimes you have to act like it doesn't matter. You may also be receiving a warning to expect the unexpected. Opossum uses brain over brawn, and may be reminding you to do so, too. Alternately, Opossum may be warning you about falling for someone else's diversion.  Opossum may be telling you to stop with the excuses for not being willing to do something. If you have been avoiding something, just come out and tell the other person why. That's lots easier than trying to remember what excuse you gave to whom ! Imitate Opossum, put up no defense. Don't get defensive with excuses. Just insist on your right to be who and what you are.
Raccoon has the primary characteristic of being the Gypsy King:* Sly
* Deceitful
* Totally adaptable to any situation, taking any guise to reach what He sees as His "just desserts",
regardless of anyone else's desserts to the contrary.
* Totally disrespectful of anyone's belongings, who isn't family...
* But totally and absolutely dedicated to the family!!! Anything anyone has is subject to being taken
(stolen, if need be) and added to the family's treasure/legacy, as long as the source is not already a family asset.Nothing is sacred to Raccoon -- except the family.
If Raccoon stares at you through its thief's mask, you are prompted to give serious thought to your family and the values you place on things which do not belong to you. Are you a little too envious of what others have ?
Raccoon can also be telling you to pay more attention to family matters. You may have distanced yourself from family values, and will soon find yourself standing out in the cold with no familial support - figuratively and emotionally "digging through trashcans for your next meal".
Raccoon asks you to respect other members of your family; but Raccoon also plays people against each other to get what He wants.
Raccoon has the mind that is in total "survival mode". Family first, "unless it threatens me, then screw the family" !
Raccoon will survive, just as Cockroach will.
Squirrel gathers food for the winter. Some people think He is hoarding, when really He is forgetful. Squirrel puts enough away so He can find a portion of the stash. The rest of the stash does not go to waste, though, since Squirrel has buried it in the ground. In the spring, the forgotten portion of Squirrel's stash sprouts, and eventually expands Squirrel's larder.Squirrel alerts you to plan ahead for winter. Squirrel also reminds us that, even when we are unaware, we are doing the work of the Great Spirit, expanding His garden as we go about our daily routine.
Squirrel can be warning us, by example of His erratic behavior, that we are running around the trunk of the tree of our life, getting nothing done fast. Perhaps we should stop, consider, and proceed at a slower, steadier pace as we go about moving into our future, conserving our energy for the winter...
Squirrel attracts your attention to change - be it the seasons, a lifestyle, a consciousness. Another side of Squirrel's message is to not worry about what you don't need to get through. You may have gathered too many anchors (errr,... that should be "acorns"). How much of what you thought you might need is actually holding you back ? This is not just a reference to material objects. Maybe Squirrel is telling you it is time to do both a physical and mental inventory to see if what you are hanging onto, "just in case", is of any use.
Going back to what was said about your unconsciously doing the work of the Great Spirit, Squirrel might be reminding you that the baggage you are hanging onto could easily be left behind, because it has little to do with what is important in the universe.
Squirrel warns you about hoarding all of this useless "crap", and reminds you that you may not have room in your life for the abundance of the Great Spirit, if you are holding so tightly to the things that don't matter.
