The "hard to find" ones.

Wild dogs are in danger of extinction.  Finding a pack of 17 was an absolute thrill.  If everyone could see how complex their social structure is -and how loving they are, there would probably be a worldwide "Save the Wild Dog" organization.  Fortunately, there is The Wild Dog Foundation in the U.S., and you can contact and join them at www.wilddog.org. 

(These photos are not so good. They were taken from far away to avoid disturbing the pack -- but as a treat, I have included my friend Mark Barrette's beautiful picture of a wild dog)

 The pups are adorable! 

But the entire pack is playful and sociable.

I can only admire, and envy, those wildlife research teams that have the privilege of getting to know and understand these amazing animals.
