My Poetry
Poetry has many definitions. Webster's college dictionary defines poetry as "literary work in metrical form." Thorndike -Barnhart dictionary puts it as simply as "The writings of a poet or poets." Rogets II thesaurus then assigns poetry synonyms such as poem, poesy, rhyme, and verse. I for one always though poetry to be an undefinable term. You cannot put a set definition on it. I believe that the true meaning and purpose changes with each and every author. With some writers, it seems to me that poetry is their heart on paper; their soul in words. Every writer is different and unique. To it's author, a poem can be a piece of them; a fingerprint. So one of a kind, so identifying. The twisting turning lines of the finger's maze...enter someone else's maze for once...

Watch the evil in my eyes...
The chains so cold that bind me...
