This was our first Best Of... album and was a worthwhile one. It was a benchmark in our career
which included a lot of our most popular songs. I must admit, the cover was not very
exciting but the music inside made up for many a new Heep fan and also those hardened
fans wanting to hear our strongest material on one album. I remember putting a cassette
of this album in my car stereo (loud!) and really enjoying it driving through the country
lanes of Epping Forest. I must admit it did get me pumping and speed limits didn't count
for much. I hope you enjoy this re-mastered version plus the bonus tracks and if you have
a CD player in your car, be careful, as you may not be as lucky as I was. Play it loud
and enjoy.

'Best of' records can be worthwhile or not and I do believe they are appropriate at certain
points in a band's career. This particular record is a good cross section of what we had
done up to the point where it was compiled and now represents a good way to introduce new
fans to the band's music. Subsequent 'best of's' are generally nothing more than attempts
to recycle catalog and are not, in my opinion, as valid musically. This one, however,
brings together some of our strongest songs and biggest hits, it is enjoyable and I am
glad to see it's still around.
All the best
