There are 2 ways to get there, over the lifting bridge on Poole Quay or through Upton.
1) From the lifting bridge, turn right at the roundabout by the ferry terminal, and after approx 1/4 mile there are a set of traffic lights. Turn right into Blandford Close. There is a signpost to the Carter School at this junction. The Hamworthy football ground is in front of you, but bear left and you will enter the school grounds. Keep to the left of the buildings and go to the far end where there is a Gym ahead of you. We are in there. The entrance door is just to the right of the Gym double doors.
2) If you are coming from the Upton direction, turn off the A35 onto the B3068 heading for Poole and the Ferry port. The turning left into Blandford Close is not signposted to the School. Its past the Co-op and opposite the Primary School. If you have reached the ferry port then do a U turn and go back. The school is signposted only from the Poole direction!! |
