TEAM RACE EVENT
We are going to hold a Team Endurance Race Evening on the 30th October. We have
outlined some regulations below to give you an idea of what it's all about.
Regulations
There are 5 drivers per team.
Number of teams will be limited to 6.
The cars will be classed as either Touring car or Mini. Novice can be any car.
Normal club rules apply.
The cars in each team will be
2 Touring Cars
2 Minis
1 Novice
To even things up, a handicap will be used for each driver based on the driver
ranking scores. So forming a team with all the best drivers isn’t going to
guarantee a win!!
The winning team is the one who does the most laps in the evening from the 2
sessions, handicap adjusted.
Trophies for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed teams.
Entry is by pre-booking only. Entries to be received by the 23rd October.
Entry Fees, £6.00 Adult, £4.50 under 16, (help pay for trophies).
Race Format
There will be 2 sessions of 50 mins. Each session will be continuous. Drivers
will change after 5 minute intervals. Each driver in the team will have 2 drives
per session.
Each team will be given a transponder. No PT ‘s allowed.
The cars will be raced together by class. The driver order will be decided
beforehand by race control. This order must be kept to. No substitutes allowed.
If your car breaks then the next driver must wait for the changeover to start
their turn.
Cars will be scrutineered beforehand. Normal Club class rules will apply.
During the race, each team will provide a Marshall at all times. The marshalls
must remain in their place until relieved by their team member after his drive.
At 5 minute intervals, race control will call for the driver change. The team
must then swap the transponder to the next car.
Entry forms will be available next Friday.

Mini Club race a roaring success
Date: 20th March 2009
A great night was had by all and a series of very close races lead to a fine set of finals. The race format
was 3 qualifiers and two leg finals which was a first for some. The rules where light and the everyone was happy.
SHMCC dominated the B final taking First, Second and Third place trophies, while the local boys took control
of the A C and D finals. Certainly of interest was the big event of the night the A final between Mark, Peter
and Andy they had both 17.5 brushless motors against the old kit standard silver can 540. Due to the gearing
restriction with the Minis the brushless system gave little over-all benefit keeping Tamiya Minis as
the number one budget entry to RC Racing.
Top marks go to Michael for winning the Trophy for "Best Under 10" yrs old and Adam for winning
the trophy for "Best Under 16".
