Bananafish
I’d only call her bananafish if she were sad. It would never do to call a happy little girl ‘bananafish,’ their whole existence being so tragic and all. When she’s happy I’d call her any number of things but bananafish is strictly for those dark days when playing outside doesn’t seem quite so fun and the dollhouse feels too empty. Bananafish is only for those long days, which drag in such a way that I wouldn’t notice, and each hour ticks by with a certain dread only bored little girls would know. |
