god speed
through whiskey breath i said a prayer for you to speed you on your way 4 days late and more than a dollar short. there were a lot of things i would liked to have said, not goodbyes or anything special, just a million conversations around the front room or in the kitchen i would like to say you died painlessly, peacefully in your sleep. i don't know that too be true. i would like to say that you were my good friend but I don't even know your last name, i'd recognize it, i'm sure, if it were said. how well do i have to know you to miss you? god speed Anthony. |
