His name was Brian Miller. And he was something else. He had been around when quite some times...*smiles a bit remembering* He told tales of Elizabeth....the first Elizabeth and then some. *shakes her head* He also told of his travel to the good ol' US where he settled down for a bit in Arizona. What makes him so memorable is not just because he was an Elder, and not because he was quite the known personage. What made him memorable was what he would do for family....for Clan Gangrel. He was Primogen for the city of what would soon be called Flagstaff. *smiles* Back then, it wasn't a state yet, it was still considered territories. Any way, I'm digressing.....he stuck up for the family, no matter what, he didn't back down from the Ventrue and Tremere clans when they were bad mouthing us, and he didn't back down from the Prince when defending one of his own. *chuckles a bit* Needless to say, he was respectful to the point that they didn't have a reason to have him staked because they didn't like him. He was smart enough to know that much and at the gathers it was quiet a laugh listening to him tell us of the stories of what happened when he was meeting with them. he felt that allt he family needed to know, so he told all. Through his network of allies and contacts he had learned that there was quiet a beehive of Sabbat in the city....enough that they were staying hidden and keeping a low profite. *slightly raised brow* Believe it or not..not all Sabbat go rampaging through towns kiling indescriminately. He had then told the Prince and of course was ordered to put together a group of epople to hunt them down...*snorts a bit* Of course they were mostly Gangrel and some Brujah thrown in. Those that actually gave a damn about wanting the city free of Sabbat. So organize he did, he managed to get all kinds of weapons and explosives for those that he would be taking with him. He didn't believe in telling someone to go and follow his orders. He was one to want to get it done right the first time and was leading the group himself. He took this group deep within an abadoned building that was hiding more than just rats and bums. There was a network of tunnels that let to a small strong hold that they had set up. With lots of security measures. There was a group of 20 who went down that night. *her eyes flicker as she remembers* And 7 got out alive. It was lucky even those 7 got out. The group went through hell just getting into the heart of it all. The fighting was something fierce as they were all manner of Sabbat clans in this area. There were about 40 down there to our 20 and they had been stockpiling for sometime, getting ready to siege the city. *Shakes her head* We lost about 5 of our numbers within 10 minutes of being there. It was a no holds barred fight and they were throwing everything at us. By the time the heart of the structure was reached we were down another 3, putting our numbers at 12. The group had they own and through some dynamite down certain hallways. But in the end, when they were ready to get out and blow up the whole place did they run into problems. We didn't know that there were 40 down there, only about half....well the rest came out and attacked, it came down to either we all got out or we all died. *sighs* Brian just looked around at what remained of us and then ordered us to leave. *Shakes her head again, looking up at the sky* He would stay there and light all the fuses on the dynamite. He would stay to make sure the job was finished. Jsut as long as everyone else got out to let everyone else know what was down there. To bring more forces to make sure everyone was cleaned out. Everyne didn't want to go...they wanted to stay and finish the fight by his side. Again, he ordered them to leave and to make sure the city stayed safe. Reluctantly...because he ordered it and it was for the better of the city, they left. Down to 11 and by the time they got out...down to 7. They had just barely got out in time before the explosion rocked the ground. It was so fierce and concentrated that there was a gout of flame from the entrance that was luckily just cleaned by the remaining memebers. The Prince was told and the next night, more went down to make sure it was clean. *she pauses* That is what this story was about...a great man who sacrificed himself for a city that looked down on us. An honorable man who wanted to make sure that everyone remained safe. *looks at everyone* he was someone to be proud of to carry the name of Gangrel
