My AN/GRC-46 as seen through the shelter door

My AN/GRC-46 is similar to the one I operated in Germany from March 1964 to August 1965 when I served as an 05C-2 Radio-Teletype Operator while assigned to the 24th Infantry Division's 1st Battalion, 34th Field Artillery, Headquarters Battery. My unit was located at Will Kaserne in Munich.

Although the shelter is tagged as being for an AN/GRC-46(B) and various equipment details such as the security safe and cordage diagrams on the interior wall also indicate the set would be an AN/GRC-46(B), my set is missing the security equipment, security shelf and mounting racks (all of which I'm still trying to locate), and is therefore functionally a plain AN/GRC-46.

As the configuration requires, the shelter is mounted in the bed of a 3/4 ton M37B1 Truck. Completion to original specifications still requires an M101A1 Trailer to carry the 1.5 KW generator.
