STOP IT NOW! is a national nonprofit organization that has introduced a groundbreaking public health approach to child sexual abuse prevention. STOP IT NOW! was founded in 1992 with the belief that adults can prevent child sexual abuse.
Through its public education, public policy, and research programs, STOP IT NOW! reaches abusers and those at risk of abusing, helping them to stop the abuse and seek help.
STOP IT NOW! created the first HELPLINE (1-888-PREVENT [773-8368]) available for abusers, people at risk to abuse, and their friends and family to call for accurate information and resources to prevent child sexual abuse.

National Helpline Information
The STOP IT NOW! National Helpline is a toll-free resource for individuals who have questions or concerns about child sexual abuse. It has been operating since 1995 and is the only resource of its kind in the United States.
The HELPLINE provides a place for concerned individuals to talk through a situation and explore the available options as well as gather information. The HELPLINE receives calls from abusers, people at risk to abuse, Family & Friends of: victims, adults at-risk to abuse, and abusers, and adult survivors. The HELPLINE also responds to general information requests.
HELPLINE staff provides support, guidance, and resource information to callers. The HELPLINE is available between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM (EST) Eastern Standard Time.
Calls to the HELPLINE are confidential, and every caller is told about the limits of the confidentiality prior to having a discussion. Specifically, the caller is told that, if s/he describes a situation of child sexual abuse and gives identifying information, the staff person will report the abuse.
