Hand lettering is a wonderful way to decorate your pages, add a little zip, without having to do a lot of decoration. One of my favorite things to do is lettering. I love planning a way to put a title on a page that will give it a special touch. I have used the stick-on alphabet stickers a few times and have no objections--except I find it almost as fast to hand-letter as to get all those little stickers to stick down exactly the way I want!!
I have really enjoyed using two sets of lettering books in particular:

The basic supplies you need are: a soft pencil, a ruler, a good eraser, and colored pigment pens with various tips. Some people also use colored pencils when the lettering is not going to be close to the photos or will be protected by page protectors. It is my understanding from browsing the 'Net that Berol Prismacolor pencils would be the best; the pencils should be a good artist quality. And pape protectors over it all is a good idea (to me) under any circumstances.
