ERNESTO DMITRUK QUARTET
This band was formed in July, 1996, joining four musicians with different stylistic influences. José Luis Colzani, a
renowned drummer from Buenos Aires, takes care of the drums and percussion parts, contributing with a great
knowledge of contemporary and South American rhythms.
Fernando Pugliese on keyboards, with a classical
training and a lot of experience in jazz music.
Carlos Madariaga is one the most requested bass players in the local
jazz and fusion bands. Last but not least,
Ernesto Dmitruk is a well known guitar player with a lot of experience in
instrumental music as well as in professional gigs. He is responsible for the composition and arrangements of the
music the band plays. The music style of the group is fusion. In this case, we're talking about the mix of the
sounds, timbrical and technological elements of the contemporary music, with the harmony and improvisation
vocabulary of modern jazz, plus rhytmic components of the Argentine folk music such as chacarera, zamba, vidala,
etc. This days the band has been taking care of an intense agenda of shows in some of the most important jazz
clubs and cultural centers of Buenos Aires. The group is also planning to record their first album in the next couple
of months.
