Player of the Week

Indigo's Pitcher

I'll make this summary short and sweet, 11 walks. Runners-up: Paul Bergman and Dave Kempanien. Paul despite having no hits and one K, managed to lead the team in RBI's with 4. Dave had a strong game going 2 for 3, with an awesome 2 RBI triple and a solid pitching performance.

Last Week's Summary

Eager Beavers 13, Digital Marketing Indigos 7

Eager Beavers torch the Digital Marketing Indigos - A.P. Erick Johnson

The Eager Beavers were back at it again. With little to no practice before the season began, they were out in the field to start the season, fielding like they hadn't skipped a beat. OK not really so much, they were a little rusty out there an managed to give up 4 in the top of the 1st. Once up to bat though it looked like the Beavers were complete naturals, there was no dust on their bats. The Beavers answered with 5 runs of their own, so it was 5 - 4 Beavers after one.

In the top of the 2nd the Beavers looked much sharper on defense, managing to hold the Indigos to no runs. In the bottom of the 2nd the hitting was even better, highlighted by a 2 RBI triple by Dave Kempanien. The inning ended on a freak double play ball, which was a suspect call by the umpire. The Beavers managed to get 7 runs despite the freakish play. At the end of 2, 12-4 Beavers.

In the top of the 3rd things looked a little shaky on defense again, but the Beavers managed to hold the Indigos to 3 runs. During the bottom of the third the Paul and Jay both struck out due to the lame foul ball third strike rule, and managed only one run during the inning, thanks to an RBI walk from Varina. After 3, Beavers 13 Indigos 7.

During the Beavers taking the field in the top of the 4th there was a delay in the game due to three little kids deciding the outfield was the best place to walk through, then after sensing some possible hope, after their mother told them to run to get off the field, it looked like it was going to be a short delay. Little did we know the bitchy mother after being asked not to cross our field by the Indigo's yelled back "It's too late now!!" and decided to take a 5 minute stroll with her baby stroller across the entire outfield. Finally the Ump raised his hand and said play ball. The Beavers sensing the end was near held the Indigos scoreless for the inning. After starting the bottom of the inning with a lead off walk by Michelle, the Beavers were unable to advance her beyond 2nd and no runs were scored. After 4, the Beavers led 13-7.

Due to the delay the ump gave the Indigos one last chance in the 5th inning. After starting with a lead off single the Indigos went down in order.

Final Score: Eager Beavers 13, Digital Marketing Indigos 7
