US Cities to Party

#3. Chicago: "The Windy City" has rocked my world many a times. Spending my time training here for work didn't
hurt either, we hit many a bar as young professionals fresh out of college. Every visit has been a blast especially being
downtown, it has some of the biggest bars/clubs I've ever seen. Whether it was dancing or just sitting in a sports
bar I had no trouble finding what I was in the mood for

#2. Washington DC: DC was awesome, unfortunately I have only been there once, but that was one of the best
times I've ever had. I couldn't tell you exactly what street I was on, but imagine a street filled with 20 somethings, all
with their buzz on and looking for a good time. The clubs were awesome and the people even better, drinks were within
my price range. Honestly I can't say enough about this city, everyone thinks politicians and slimeballs, when I was there
that was not the case.

#1. Las Vegas - tie: When I was there it might not have necessarily been the scene so much as it was the free
booze. I honestly can't believe how much you can get for free.
>Studio 54< was a riot, dress code enforced. We waited in
line for about an hour before we got in, but the dancing was a blast. Make sure to take advantage of the bars downstairs
while you are waiting in line.

#1. New Orleans - tie: Wow!!! I was here during Mardi Gras. Everything that you heard about it is true. Flo was
seated next to an older woman (in her 40's) during his flight in, and she warned him it is the city of the devil and to check
his morals at the airport when he landed. Honestly, it was even worse. Make sure you stop by
>Krystal< for a little pre-bedtime snack. Also try and hit the Playboy Club,
it was really the only place for dancing. Expect expensive drinks on Burboun Street, but the beer is more than reasonable.
Also don't be fooled, the food is terrible on Bourbon, it made be want to puke or was that he alcohol. The best place to
eat and drink was
>The Hard Rock<,
we ran up huge tabs there two afternoons in a row. One thing to beware
of is the smell, the entire city smells like a sceptic tank especially during Mardi Gras. Also, get expensive beads, I can't
express this enough, paying $20 for 5 beads is not a bad deal if you get good ones.

Bars in Mpls

#3. Buffalo Wild Wings - Roseville: This bar has now surpassed Williams, which in all reality
I haven't been there in probably 6 months. Why you ask? Well first off wings. Huge variety of
flavors of wings here, from wussy wings to wings that make you cry. Sometimes you'll get a bad batch
but I'd say 9 out of 10 are great. The beer while sometimes not exceptionally cold is cheap. Cheap is
good. The bartenders are the wait staff, but they manage to do a decent job of keeping your beers full,
I guess we tip pretty well so we're almost regulars. Also, they have a ton of TV's here (trivia too),
so it's a great place to catch the game before going on to another bar.

#2. Damons: This bar has replaced Brother's which I haven't been to in atleast a year. Damon's
is really more of a restaraunt, but it kicks ass. Its got good food, make that great food. They
have an awesome sports bar set up, there are 4 big screens in the front wall, it has stadium seating
for each booth, so you don't have to look through somebody's head to see, then you have a tuner at
your table so you can to listen to either of the 4 big screens. I was totally floored when I walked
into this place. Such an awesome setup I can't believe no one thought of it earlier. The only drawback
it's in the suburbs, the only one I've been to is in Oakdale. By the way, the suburbs suck.

#1. Lyle's Liquor Lounge - tie: Located in Uptown, for many people this bar is obvious as to why it's
made my top 3, its right across the street from my house. It is a great bar to just sit and chill at.
They have happy hour everyday from 5-6pm and 9-10pm even on the weekends. All drinks are 2 for 1 during
happy hour. The music is a little on the strange side at times, but that's because they have a jukebox
and the crowd picks the music. Most of the servers are really cool and will definitely hit you before
the happy hour last call (three happy hours daily 2 for 1 anythings). They have Darts and Pool in the
back, I don't know I just keep going back there.

#1. Harvey's - tie: Located Downtown, this bar is relatively new to the area but has caught on quickly. This bar
isn't all that large but on the weekend it packs in the people. The beer is fairly priced and the music is superior to
most bars downtown. One word of warning though the dance floor gets crowded due to its popularity and no cover.
Also on a special note, my friends and I saw Jim Thome and Ellis Burks here when the Indians were in town, sign of a
happening place.

Recently Removed from the List but ready to be put back on:
Lyon's Pub:
New Thoughts: I've had my run-ins with Lyon's Pub and my opinion constantly changes, of course
this varies on how drunk I was, so here's my new take. Last time I was at Lyon's I had a good time
because D-Ray and I were drunk enough and we were dancing and there was a ton of our other friends there.
This always helps to have people to dance with, anyway I found out I know one of the bouncers from
somewhere besides the bar and he's cool and the music wasn't too bad. The ratio was probably 1 decent
song to every 2 lame songs, not too bad for no cover. Everywhere in Mpls is now instituting a cover too,
so that weighs heavily in Lyon's weighting, but still can't get them into the top 3.
Old Thoughts: I've had enough of this bar, besides the crappy music that
they play here, there's not enough action. Despite being one of the few bars without a cover in downtown they
can't attract a crowd. The DJ never has any songs that were popular in the last year or years. Also the
DJ won't take requests from guys even if you tip him, not that he'll have the song you want anyway. If you
wanna dance by yourself to more than one Jackson Five song in one night this is your place.

Bands

#3. Blessid Union of Souls - tie: This band is not a religious band despite the name. They
sing what some people like to call sappy songs. They know what their doing though. I hate to say
something like this but their songs are "pretty". Some of their songs include: "I Believe", "Let Me Be
The One", and "Standing On The Edge Of The Earth".

#3. Aerosmith - tie: They are one of the most successful bands of all time. Having great success for now four
decades these guys keep rocking. I saw them live at the Target Center and their show rocked. I honestly can't believe
they can continue to produce hits, but they suprise me with every new album.

#2. Dr. Dre - tie: I know he's not a band, but his rapping is the best, most addictive rap I've ever heard. I can
personally rap every song on The Chronic. Dr. Dre 2001 was awesome too, with its smoot beats and great lyrics.
I can't say enough about him since he's one rapper that is successful and keeps his act together too.

#2. Metallica - tie: I think everyone loves them. Personally I only liked three of their albums and everyone will
call me a sellout, but they were "And Justice For All . . ., Metallica," and "Load." The rest of their stuff was really too
hard for me.

#1. Everclear: As I've grown older and maybe a little more mature, my listening tastes have changed. I think
that this band is great. I loved "Sparkle and Fade, So Much for the Afterglow," and "Songs from an American Movie
Vol. 1." Whatever you want these guys can do it. I do have to admit though that "Songs from and American Movie
Vol 2." wasn't all that great.

TV Shows

#3. Seinfeld: Jerry, George, Elaine, Kramer, I'll even throw in Newman. What a great cast!!!
Unfortunately none of them can make it on their own. Who would have thought that a show about nothing
could have ever been so successful. Some notable episodes include "The Contest" and "The Soup Nazi".

#2.      Family Guy: This show is hilarious. The show is based around the Griffin Family. They are
Peter (Father), Lois (Mother), Chris (Son), Meg (Daughter), Stewie (Baby Boy), Brian (The Dog). There
are some great characters on this show, usually there is a moral type message at the end, but its all out
hilarious. I wasn't a huge fan the first season, but now looking back and watching those it is such an
original show. The show is created by Seth MacFarlane. I can't wait until the next season, watch for
it on Fox on Thursday nights.

#1. The Simpsons: This show is based around the Simpson Family. They are Homer (Father), Marge
(Mother), Bart (Son), Lisa (Daughter), Maggie (Baby Girl), among various other characters.
If you haven't seen this show you must not
be alive. The show has been great ever since the second season. The show is created by Matt Groening.
Some notable episodes are "Mr. Plow", "Flaming Moe's", and "Homer The Great". Watch for their next
season on Fox on Sunday nights.

Authors

#3. John Sanford: He writes murder mystery type novels. He has a main character (I currently
can't remember offhand) who does all of his detective work. He's an ultimately cool detective who works
for the St. Paul Police of all places. So since it is written about the local area I guess that makes
it even more interesting for me. His main character too is much more cool then Nelson Demille's main
detective character who comes across as a complete jerk.

#2. Margeret Weis and Tracy Hickman: I include these two together because it seems when they
venture off to write their own books they are very dissappointing. These two teamed up together to
write the beginning of the DragonLance series, which means they write science fiction/fantasy. They
wrote the chronicles and legends trilogy, I believe they have a new trilogy coming out in the DragonLance
series. Great character development, great action, they even mix in a not too mushy love story and some
great science fiction/fantasy info, definitely a great team.

#1. Stephen King: Although, he is a little bit strange and definitely a complete dork he writes
one hell of a book. I've only read about half of his books but most of them have been incredible,
filled with suspense and horror sometimes you can't put the damn book down. I'd say he truly is the
master of horror, too bad no one can make his books into a successful movie (excluding the Green Mile,
which wasn't his typical type of book). If you have the patience I suggest "The Stand Uneditted and
Uncut Edition" if you have the patience it's of 1000 pages, but for a quick hitter check out "The Dark
Half."

Ski Resorts

#3. Keystone: Location - Keystone, Colorado. This is just a presonal favorite. Everytime I've
been here they've had great snow and a lot of their runs are built for intermediate skiiers. Also
another thing is that they seem to try and stay away from moguls, I'm not a big mogul skiier so that
works out well for me. If you like tree runs they have quite a few. They also have a nice little
village area at the bottom of the hill, where they have bars, restaurants, clothes shops and other little
shops. Visit their
>website< for more info.

#2. Vail: Location - Vail, Colorado. Greatest Resort town in Colorado. The back bowls are good, but only for advanced
skiiers. I am not an advanced skiier so I only spent part of my day back here, plus my skis are built
for Minnesota's Ice not Vail's powder. You could literally spend all day skiing and hit only a tenth of
their runs. The town is actually really cool too and their is a free shuttle if you wanna ride around
the town without using your own vehicle. Visit their
>website< for more info.

#1. Whistler/Blackcomb: Location - Whistler, British Columbia, Canada. Pow-Pow delight. They have the
most snow I have ever seen, we were headed up there in the beginning of February and on the drive through
Vancouver we saw people playing soccer outside, then an hour and a half later there's six feet of snow.
This is totally an international destination, there are people from all over the world coming to check
out this great snow. They have a couple of more runs that Vail and at the end of our day it literally
took us a half hour ski to the base. One of the nice features for newer skiiers is that there is always
a green you can take from every lift down, even the peak. There are two awesome Villages one at the base of both mountains
(Blackcomb and Whistler). The Blackcomb Village is a little smaller and quieter at night, but most
shops and restaurants are open late. The Whislter village is bigger and a little more lively at night.
This place is the place to go in North America, the people were great there and I can't wait to go back
again. Visit their
>website< for more info.

Honorable Mention
Lusten: Location - Lusten, Minnesota. It's the midwest and that's where I live so I have to mention
it. Visit their
>website< for more info.
