The links on this page will take you to samples of my writing, designs, and production work. All were published under the name of Narissa K. Willever or N. K. Willever.

Is there an aspect of publications design I haven't done? Aside from working in the printing house, probably not! Just a few of the hats I've worn are conceptual artist, researcher, writer, graphic artist, layout specialist, editor, midnight artwork delivery person, mailing database designer, publication distributor... That about covers it, hey?

For most of my publications career I have written activity guides, articles, press releases, brochures, and training materials for the National Park service. In addition, I've taken on work of myriad types: nonfiction articles, gear reviews, children's contemporary short fiction, adult contemporary and fantasy short fiction, and even a fantasy novel. Monetary recompense has been slender, but ah, the rewards of experience have been rich... I am, if nothing else, a positive thinker.

"Splendor on the Water" for Vermont Woman
Vermont is a kayaking paradise, and this foliage-starved paddler heads out in search of the best places to leaf peep from a loon's eye view.

Adult Fiction

Short story, "Healing, Part I: Hands" was a semi-finalist for the Ralph Nading Hill Literary Prize and was also published in Vermont Woman, along with my rather odd illustration. Yay, I am now a published illustrator, too!
