Mickey's first encounter with Embrace was somewhat demanding. He was given a song by Danny who was going to lunch, a song that had an empty spot where Danny wanted string arrangements. The time he had to manage this: one hour. Needless to say, he handled it and became an unofficial member of Embrace. He recorded with them as well as playing live with them. But it took until October 20th 1998 for him to become a so called official member.
1968, on the 22nd of March Michael Dale saw the world for the first time. Despite joining Embrace a bit later he has quite a following among fans.
According to Mickey himself he isn't as good at reading music as he is at playing it from the heart...but the heart being the essential part it really isn't a drawback. I have to add that I think Mickey should write film scores because he's so good with string arrangements and the piano.
Mickey used to be in a band called Lazer Boy and a punk band called Kitsche. The latter got very close to signing a record deal and supported Embrace in 1997.
