Hobbies and Interests

This is where we regale you with some of the hobbies and activities we are involved in. Hopefully, you won't be bored. Even more hopefully, you may be interested enough in what we share to join similar activities in your local area (one can hope!). Following is some general information regarding some of the hobbies we take part in:

Community Service

The Maryland Defense Force (MDDF)

- a volunteer organization that takes part in Emergency Operations, Search and Rescue missions, and Community Service around the State of Maryland.


Historical Reenactments

Medieval Re-enactment Organizations

- Markland Ltd. & The Longship Company are two historical/ educational organizations based in Maryland that re-create history and share what they learn with the public.



The St. Marie's Citty Militia(SMCM)

- a historical re-enactment unit that recreates the life and times of the colonists at St. Mary's City, our State's first capital.



The Veterans Reserve Corps(VRCCW)

- a Civil War era re-enactment unit that recreates the Invalid Corps soldiers who continued to serve even after being wounded in battle.



The Weapons Shop(TWS)

Here is where re-enactors can find information on how to acquire costuming, weaponry, and other equipment. On the "Reenactor's News and Views" page, you can also post your experiences to educate, enlighten and entertain other re-enactors.
