Black and White Graphics
Created simple greyscale graphic and saved in PSP format at 12 KB.

A) Saved to JPG format - 5 KB.

B) Saved to GIF (256 colors greyscale) - 3 KB.

C) Decreased color depth to 16 colors greyscale - 2 KB.

D) Decreased color depth to 2 colors greyscale - 1 KB.
The 16 color graphic (image C) would be used on a web site since it is the smallest in size (2 KB) without a major loss in quality when compared visually to the original image.

Converting color images to greyscale

A) Original photo of Pinhey's Point in JPG format.

B) Converted to PSP 16.7 million colors - 1165 KB. Then converted from PSP to 256 GreyScale - 406 KB.

C) Converted to 16 GreyScale - 121 KB.

D) Converted to 2 GreyScale - 13 KB.
The 16 color graphic (image C) would be used on a web site since it is the smallest in size (121 KB) without a major loss in quality when compared visually to the 256 greyscale image.
