You shall be responsible for researching William Shakespeare. His life, his works, and his background are quite important. As well, you must research the background for Macbeth the play. The story surrounding the play, real life connections, and the value of setting are important points to note.

You are responsible for an indepth look into the character of Macbeth. What makes him tick? What kind of man is he? What does he want in his life? Who influences his decision making? (ie: witches, Lady Macbeth, himself)You may also want to take a look at some criticisms towards him to help your analysis.

You will be responsible for the indepth look into the character of Lady Macbeth. You may want to focus on her goals in life, her feelings towards Macbeth, her actions as a female, her acts of insanity, and her demise. Who was responsible for what happened to her? |
Your responsibility lies within the heart of the play. There are many underlying themes and motifs outlined throughout, and it is your job to find them and discuss them with relevance to the characters and the plot.

The conclusion of your research must revolve around this question:
" Is human nature innately evil, or is it the elements of our surroundings and our environment which influence our behaviour?" -Use Macbeth as your reference for this argument.
