Welcome to my Guide on Linux! This site contains content to help
you install, administrate, and use your Linux system.
I've written HOWTOs and tips based on my experience and the more
frequently asked questions I've seen on message boards. They are
listed below.
HOWTO boot Linux or Windows using
the Windows boot loader in the MBR (Master Boot Record). In this
setup, the Windows boot loader runs GRUB to boot Linux. This is
recommended if you are installing Linux as a second OS. HOWTO also
available in
French and
Spanish.
HOWTO share partitions on a machine
such that their files are accessible from either Linux or
Windows.
Detailed HOWTO for installing Red
Hat on your beloved Dell notebook. Covers Dell-specific Linux
gotchas (e.g. X, winmodem) and general installation topics (e.g.
partitioning, boot disk creation, etc).
Suggestions for tracking changes to
your /etc config files to ease troubleshooting and system
recovery.
