Conclusion

Once you have completed all the tasks, I will take your recommendations to DACC where hopefully they will act on your ideas.

At the end of this webquest you will have reviewed many of the aspects of proportions including percents, fractions, ratios and rates.

If you're wondering where you're going to use your knowledge about proportions, here are a few examples:

  • Mixing gas and oil for engines (mowing lawn, motorcycle, etc.)

  • Building models

  • Making toys/dolls

  • Converting rates of money

  • Finding miles per gallon

Proportions is probably the most widely used mathematics in the "real world" that you will learn at the middle school level.
