Clamp is the famous all-female team associated with numerous skilfully drawn and animated stories, mostly on fantasy, alternate worlds, forbidden love, and global disasters. Clamp made their debut in 1989 with their first manga, Deryad. Clamp is based in the Kansai area, which is in Southern Japan.

When Clamp first began, there were eleven members. They were Mokona Appapa, Satsuki Igarashi, Mikku Nekoi, Nanase Ohkawa, Tamayo Akiyama, Sai Nanano, Leeza Sei, Soushi Hisagi, Kazue Nakamori, Shinya Ohmi, and O-kyon. However, due to creative differences, originality conflicts, and various other inevitable milestones, most of the members dropped out. When Clamp debuted RG Veda in 1989 there were only seven members left.

As for information on the mangakas who left, I know only that Tamayo Akiyama used to be the leader but was eventually so influenced by Mokona Apapa's drawings that she gave up the position. She currently writes the story 'Secret Chaser'. Leeza Sei now writes under the name 'Iba Takeo' and is working on Phantom Cognition'. We are currently searching for further information regarding the other previously Clamp members. Anyone help?

There are now only four members to Clamp. Below is a little information regarding each.

Nanase Ohkawa is the 'leader' of the group. Born on the 2nd of May in 1967, She is responsible for coming up with most of the ideas by the way of storylines, characters, all scripts and designs. She says that the mangakas who have influenced her most in life are Tezuka Osamu and Go Nagai.

Mokona Apapa is in co-leadership of the drawing and illustration. She was born on June 16, 1968 under a different name, but she prefers to go by her pen name. Mokona attended a drawing school and is responsible for most of the intricate and defined artwork that Clamp is most famous for, especially Magic Knight Rayearth.

Mikku (Mick) Nekkoi is also one famed for her illustration, especially through her work for RG Veda. She was born on the 21st of January in 1969.

Satsuki Igarashi is in charge of the design, development and assistance. If something is animated, it was usually her who gets it in progress. Satsuki was born on the 8th of February in 1969. She has a special talent for alternate-world fantasies and often assists Ohkawa in story board creation.

I'm kind of pissed off about the pop-up box, but so far they're still the best provider we've found.
