A bit on Cerberus, Sakura's Guardian Beast:

Favourite Colours: Red & orange
Favourite Food: Sweet things
Least Favourite Food: Bitter things
Favourite thing: Video games
Favourite Flower: Sunflowers
Wants: new video games

A bit on his name: In Greek mythology, Cerberus was the three-headed dragon-tailed dog who sits by the gates of the underworld. Coincidentally, Cerberus could be bribed with sweets, similar to dear Kero-chan. Cerberus in Sakura didn’t like to be called 'Kero-chan' at first since he though it was a froggy name. (Kero Kero Keroppi)

Cerberus is also known as 'Kero-chan'. Originally he was the Guardian of the Clow Cards, but hey, after a thousand years or so of keeping watch, one gets a little sleepy, and during a nap, Sakura let the cards free and they sneaked out on him. Kero-chan, as the stuffed 'bear'(?) is not his true form. His true form, above, cannot be kept for want of the Clow's power. In his true form, Kero is a cool fire-breathing lion (with no mane?) with wings and awesome armor. When Sakura captures the element cards, the most powerful, only then can he change into his true form, along with Yue, his partner. He's very proud of his 'cool' true form.

Kero-chan talks too much I think but he's very clever. He always speaks with a southern-Japanese accent and has a signature phrase of "konnyanachiwa!" How sweet. He's a lot better of a guardian than Sailormoon's Mausei Cats, I think, because he realizes the necessity of a child's imagination and spirit in her job. He understands and so lets her play with the whole shoujo super heroine idea. In addition to that, he believes in Sakura and will defend her to the end against all forms of criticism, may it be Li, Meiling, or Clow Reed himself. We're not sure whether to attribute that to his own pride to his faith in Clow Reed's Choice! He's also quite relaxed, and has an affinity for quiz shows.

What do we think of Kero?

Richard: Kero is cool. He's got an amusing personality when he's in his fluffy form and never loses it, which is part of the charm. It's great to see a magnificent guardian beast say how cool he is. We need more like him.

Viscay: I like Kero better in his Cerberus form because it's just cooler, though I have a much harder time drawing it! I can see why CLAMP wouldn’t want to keep drawing his full form over and over again in comics! What a time-consuming hobby comics are. Kero, I agre, is very cool. I hate stuffed guardians normally because it's all about the marketing and an excess character, rather like Chu-chu in Utena and Ryo-ohki in Tenchi Muyo. But this one plays a significant and active role, and that's why I like him.

Riki: I never liked Luna all that much in Sailormoon because she was bossy and strict, and I thought Kero would be like that too. But hey! He's funny, relaxed and playful and I think he's the best stuffed-guardian an anime can have.

I'm kind of pissed off about the pop-up box, but so far they're still the best provider we've found.
