About her name:
Sakura means cherry blossom.

Sakura is an energetic fourth-grader who happens to have an interesting life of a Card Captor. She is very trusting, it seems, especially considering that when I was in fourth grade, I didn't believe everything that was told me. I would have screamed and called for my dad if a little yellow bear popped out of one of his books and started ordering me to catch cards. Sakura is head-over heels in love with her brother's friend Yukito and loves to make him pancakes. She is often teased by her older brother about her height (he calls her all sorts of monster names) but they really have a typical sibling relationship. Sakura's best friend is Tomoyo Daidouji, who makes all her costumes for her card-catching endeavors. She makes friends easily and forgives people quickly, but she is a dedicated fighter and a logical thinker in battles.

Something interesting about Sakura' personality is that she is truly very 'oyayan', as Meiling called her once. That is, she does happen to be very naive and aloof, which is a great personality to comfort you but not practical. Sakura's got a big heart and rarely gets mad at anyone besides her brother.

What do we think of Sakura Kinomoto?

Richard: Sakura is cute and has that ability to be adorable throughout the whole series, unlike Usagi (Sailor Moon) or Sasaki (Tenchi Muyo) who can occasionally get annoying or overdone. She's realistic as a character and a good role-model for the rather brash kids of today.

Viscay: I think she's cute but for some reason unrealistic. She's just too perfect and warm-hearted. That makes her vulnerable and naive and I think she just wouldn't fare in reality. On the other hand, it's because of this perfect personality that she has so many cool things happen to her and she does get along better than real people. I wonder, if I met someone like this, what impression would they have on me?

Riki: Sakura's absolutely adorable. Whether realistic or not, she has the perfect personality that would work great on a practical level: she's the kind of person generous and caring enough to want around all the time but not so stupid they'd get annoying. She looks very much like my little sister, and my sister even used to be like her when she was younger. Now, my sister just loves Sakura and wishes she had a little sister like that! How ideal.

I'm kind of pissed off about the pop-up box, but so far they're still the best provider we've found.
