NBC’s Thursday-night streak continued as the network dominated its
competition last night in the November sweeps, out-rating its nearest
challenger by 45 percent among adults 18-49 and winning from 8-11 p.m.
ET among total viewers.
NBC was paced by “Friends” (12.6 rating and 33 share among adults
18-49 and 26.5 million overall viewers) from 8-8:30 p.m. ET. The
resurgent comedy actually increased its 18-49 audience over last week
and held a 73 percent advantage in that key demographic over the first
half of its closest competitor, “Survivor,” based on official
national data from Nielsen Media Research.
The Peacock Network won the night with a 10.6 rating and 26 share
(18-49) and 21.6 million overall viewers.
“ER” (13.2/33 among adults 18-49) showed an increase in that
category over the past week and held a 63 percent lead over CBS and ABC
combined in the hour. The drama also registered 27.4 million overall
viewers.
On a rare Thursday-night broadcast from 8:30-9 p.m. ET, “Scrubs”
(Tuesdays, 9:30-10 p.m. ET) earned an 8.3/20 among adults 18-49 and
thereby received a sampling boost of 43 percent over its usual
Tuesday-night showcase. “Scrubs” attracted 17.2 million overall
viewers.
NBC was helped with solid performances by the comedies “Will &
Grace” (8.6/20 share and 16.6 million overall viewers) from 9-9:30
