EOPS & CARE

Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) assists low income educationally disadvantaged students in achieving their educational goals. EOPS coordinates its activities with the Financial Aid Office, the Learning Assistance Center, the Career Development Center, the Transfer Center, the General Counseling Center, the African American Achievement Program, and the Admissions and Records Office, as well as the instructional departments, to promote students' success.

Apply for EOPS now. This is for students enrolled in Credit Classes only. EOPS assists full-time students enrolled in credit classes with the following state-funded supportive services:

  • Counseling
  • Priority Registration
  • Book Service
  • Financial Aid Advising
  • Summer Enrichment Services
  • Transfer Workshops


Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education
(CARE) is an additional service for single parents who are currently enrolled EOPS students receiving CalWORKs. To qualify you must be a single parent with children 14 and under and be enrolled in credit classes full-time. These supportive services include:

  • Fast Passes
  • Additional book grants
  • Personal counseling and workshops
  • Referrals to community services

Their offices are open 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday. Please call to make an appointment in advance with a Counselor if possible. They also have their own website at EOPS & CARE with more detailed information on services and assistance available to CalWORKs students.
