Laptop (Notebook) Data Recovery

If you are a laptop user, you need to rely on your computer to perform every day, in every situation. You can't afford to have it go down. When it does, Everesta Media Data Recovery is there to take care of the problem. Over the years, we have recovered data from just about every laptop or notebook hard drive ever produced. Back in 1996 we recovered data from a 20Mb. IDE Conner CP321 that was in the first Toshiba laptop. Today we routinely recover data from laptop or notebook hard drives ranging in size from 20mb. to 180gb.

So whether you've accidentally spilled a soda on your laptop, dropped it, or it's suffered from a natural disaster - Don't worry. Everesta Media will get your data back!

Practical Information on Laptop Hard Disk Drives:

When most people buy a laptop computer they put complete trust in in it and don't even think about the risk of losing data until it is to late. The fact of the matter is that today's hard disk drives are highly prone to failure for a number of reasons. Hard drives keep increasing in capacity with the use of fewer and smaller parts. Today's average hard drive spins at around 75 mph. and the R/W heads are flying above the media at a distance of about 3 nanometers. That is like a 747 airplane flying 4 inch's from the ground.

What's is the best Laptop Hard Disk Drive?

When you purchase a laptop computer you don't get to choose what brand hard drive goes into the computer. When you are replacing a drive you do get that choice. Our experience tells us that from a data recovery stand point Toshiba laptop hard drives are the best. They have the highest data recovery success rate. Seagate and Western Digital now make laptop hard drives but we don't have enough statistical data to form an opinion about them yet. Older Hitachi and IBM laptop hard drives have the lowest success rate on data recovery.

Apple- Sudden Motion Sensor technology

All MacBook and MacBook Pro computers, PowerBook G4 computers starting with PowerBook G4 (12-inch 1.5GHz), PowerBook G4 (15-inch 1.67/1.5GHz), and PowerBook G4 (17-inch 1.67GHz) and iBook computers starting with iBook G4 (Mid 2005) have Sudden Motion Sensor technology, built-in protection for the hard disk that is designed to help prevent disk failures if the computer is dropped or undergoes severe vibration. The Sudden Motion Sensor is designed to detect unusually strong vibrations, sudden changes in position or accelerated movement. If the computer is dropped, the Sudden Motion Sensor instantly parks the hard drive heads to help reduce the risk of damage to the hard drive on impact. When the Sudden Motion Sensor senses that the PowerBook position is once again stable, it unlocks the hard drive heads, and you are up and running within seconds.

In general, Sudden Motion Sensor protection does not change hard disk performance with regular PowerBook, MacBook or MacBook Pro operation.
Occasionally, the Sudden Motion Sensor may be activated by unusually strong vibrations at a time when your PowerBook is writing data intensively, such as when recording video or audio. Should you experience dropped frames or sound elements in such a situation, make sure that your PowerBook is in a stable environment without vibration or abrupt movement.

(Note that in some locations you may see the Sudden Motion Sensor referred to as the Mobile Motion Module. Both names refer to the same
