Write On Magazine is seeking short manuscripts (fiction, nonfiction
and poetry) along with high quality photographs and original artwork.
We are interested in new writers as well as those who have published
widely.
Manuscripts must be the sender's own creation and should be in good
taste, suitable for young readers and writers. Address manuscripts
to Write On Magazine, P.O. Box 3039, Spring Hill, FL 34611-0960.
A color headshot (close-up head and shoulders portrait) and short
bio (five to six paragraphs) of the author is requested. You also
can send manuscripts via e-mail to: editor@writeonmag.com
(please use the word "submission" in the subject line) and
include full name, address, telephone number and fax. Deadline is
the 15th of each month. IMPORTANT: When e-mailing, submit your work
in the body of the e-mail message, NOT AS AN ATTACHMENT.
We will consider as many as four poems per month from the same writer.
Fiction and nonfiction should be no more than 1,500 words in length.
We will accept up to four photos/art per submission; all must include
name, address, phone and typed cutline attached to the reverse of
each image. Copyright of all published work remains with the author/artist.
It is suggested that you register your copyrights in your works. Write
On Magazine does not authorize reproduction without permission
with the exception of downloading for offline viewing and cannot be
held liable for any copyright infringements by readers. Please see
our list of frequently asked questions, FAQ.
The editors reserve the right to reject any submissions. Material
that cannot be used will be returned only if the sender includes a
self-addressed envelope with sufficient postage. Although Write
On Magazine does not offer payment for publication, the author
will receive worldwide internet exposure, and the work will remain
online for a period of up to five months (one month in the current
magazine and the remaining period in the back issues.)
Mail
submissions should include a 3 1/2-inch floppy disk with a clean hard
copy (preferably laser printed). All files on disk should be converted
to ASCII text, along with the original version created in your word
processor application. Specify whether the disk is PC or Mac and the
name of your software. Make sure to label the disk and all pages of
your printed manuscripts with your name, phone number, fax, e-mail
and address.
Writers are invited to submit to Off the Beaten
Path by addressing manuscripts to Nell Woodcock, Associate Editor,
Write On Magazine, P.O. Box 3039, Spring Hill, FL 34611-0960.
Stories should be about Florida lore and out-of-the way places in
the Sunshine State. Photographs and original art are welcome. Again,
SASE required for the return of materials.
