What should I tell you about and what should I delete into the nexus?
Been trying to keep busy acting wise. Finally picked out some headshots that you can see on my resume page. Now just need to get those reproduced and I'll start my new strategy. Hopefully something will come of my hard work, which has probably been a little lazy for awhile. So it goes.
Here's an update on my mass marketing campaign to meet a woman: it worked. Got a reply. Went on a few dates, but the chemistry wasn't there for her. But it was nice while it lasted. And now a bit after that ended I met another woman who I think is aces. I don't want to go into too much detail about any woman on this site. Even though I say that I write some personal stuff here, I want to keep that side of my personal life personal between me and the person I'm experiencing it with.
Going this week to Austin to see my friends Alan and Erica get married. Two good people whom I'm happy to see share their love together. Alan is a long time friend from highschool. I met Erica when they started dating a couple of years ago. I guess about 3 years. They got engaged on my birthday which was a special suprise from them. I don't think that Alan planned to propose that day of all days. Probably just worked out with his time-table. So yep, happy happy.
In music news, I saw Weezer live a couple of days after their new album Make Believe came out. I wasn't sold on the new songs until I heard them live and then I was able to appreciate the song writing. Also Beck came out with an exceptional album. His last one made me cry. This one makes me dance. Plus, the White Stripes kicked out a new album which I think is great as well. Just waiting to get the new Foo Fighters and see how they rock my lame ass.
Definitions:
Lemonade -- drink consisting of 2 Tbsp lemon juice, 2 Tbsp grade B maple
syrup, 1/10 Tsp cayenne pepper and medium hot purified water.
Laxative Herb Tea -- just like it sounds.
Salt wash -- full quart of luke-warm water combined with 2 Tbsp
uniodized sea salt.
Day 1: Sunday Jan. 30,
2005
Woke up at around 2:30pm and drank my lemonade. Sat and watched TV all day.
Drank about 5 drinks during the day. Had a good bowel movement. Nothing too
exciting.
Day 2: Monday Jan. 31, 2005
Went to work. This was my day out in public during my fast. Felt a little
hungry but drank a serving of the lemonade and my hunger went away. Also started
a laxative tea the night before and one this morning. Bowel movements have
become less solid. Hunger didn't seem to kill me like my roommate (who is a
couple of days ahead of me in the process. He's always complaining about it)
After work I worked out at the gym. Just lifting weights. No cardio. Didn't feel
bad at all.
Day 3: Tuesday Feb. 1, 2005
Not liking the laxative tea that I'm taking at bedtime and in the morning.
It's suppose to loosen any hardened material in the intestines and get it out.
But I've been on a fiber supplement for about the last two years so I've already
done a lot of evacuation with that. I've been adding the pulp of the lemons to
my drink so I guess the lax tea will help push that through. Energy level good.
Felt a little light headed going the stairs from the subway after work, but
again just drank another lemonade and felt fine.
Day 4: Wednesday Feb. 2, 2005
Really just the same as the day before. Some people at work noticed me making
the same like drink all the time so I told them what I was doing. One guy called
me intimidating. Like "damn, that guy is tough. He's not going to eat for ten
days and he's got plenty of energy. I better stay away from him." (Emphasis
mine)
Day 5: Thursday Feb. 3, 2005
Didn't have to work today so I did the salt wash. The salt wash is suppose to
help cleanse my digestive system especially the intestines. I've been taking a
laxative tea before I go to bed and in the mornings to help loosen old hardened
fecal matter. Now since I'm not taking in any solids except for the little bit
of pulp from the lemon, there's not a lot in the bowl when I do to the bathroom.
Now the consistency of the salt wash allows it to go right through the system
without being absorb by the liver or kidneys. And it's suppose to kick in
anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour after ingestion. So I took it. But nothing
happen. A couple of minor rumbles but no explosion as other people that have
done this fast have told is suppose to happen. That was the only highlight of
the day. Energy still good. Worked out today and even added 30 min of light
cardio. Feel fine. Then went and saw a really good production of Harold Pinter's
"The Homecoming."
Day 6: Friday Feb. 4, 2005
All is well. Nothing really to report. Worked all day. Drank my drinks. Came
home. Worked out at the gym again. Weight lifting and a light 30 minute cardio
workout. Now just sitting at home about to make another lemonade.
Day 7: Saturday Feb. 5, 2005
Did the salt wash again today. Thought I'd give it a second chance. Again nothing happened. Even went into the city and did some stuff but nothing. Later around 8pm, I had a liquid bowl movement thanks to the salt wash. But no where near the amount that I drank. A full quart to be exact. Of course I didn't measure my discharge but I think I can tell how much I blow out of my ass. Later went dancing at Opaline. A really cool dance club in the Lower East Side that plays really good music. Not the typical house music that I hate but real rock songs by bands that have members like David Bowie, Blur, Modest Mouse. Good times.
Day 8: Sunday Feb. 6, 2005
Slept in a little today. Then went to an audition and then back to my
apartment in Brooklyn. Watched the Super Bowl. While doing this I had a craving
for Super Bowl food and beer. Even though I'm not a big fan of football, I guess
I've conditioned myself to crave party food for this event. It will just have to
wait. Even after this fast, I plan on revamping my eating habits. Smaller
portions, no carbs after 8pm, low fat, high protein. I have to goal to actually
get rid of my pot belly that I've had my entire life. And this fast was the
perfect way to start. I haven't weighed myself since I started fasting, but my
clothes fit differently and I think I look better naked. Ladies...hint, hint.
Day 9: Monday Feb. 7, 2005
Again nothing special to report. Worked a temp job, drank my lemonade, worked
out and updated you on my progress. I really recommend this fast for everyone to
try at least once in your life. Buy the book The Master Cleanser by Stanley
Burroughs for more information. I had trouble finding it in bookstores so either
ask them to order a copy for you or search for it on
Amazon.com. And if you have
any questions and want a personal story other than this one or you actually want
to hear the words coming out my mouth just email with the link at the bottom of
the page.
Day 10: Tuesday Feb. 8, 2005
Yea!!! I did it. 10 whole days on this fast. I've decided to go for another
10 days. The highlight of today was that I went to a weekly reading series
hosted by Naked Angels Theatre and Mike Myers (SNL, Austin Powers) showed up and
read some stuff he's writing about his early days in Second City for inclusion
in a book. Pretty cool seeing him that close and that true.
Day 11: Wednesday Feb. 9, 2005
So yeah, I'm going for another 10 days for a total of 20. And again I assure
you that I feel fine and healthy. All I need to sustain is in my lemonade. But
20 will be my limit and then I plan on rewarding my myself with some good eating
for the next few days. But I won't go overboard, because I'm going to use this
fast as a jumping off point for better eating, drinking and living.
Day 12: Thursday Feb. 10, 2005
Same as usual. Got up, went to work, drank my lemonades, came home, worked
out and now updating the masses.
Day 13: Friday Feb. 11, 2005
Nothing much to update. Watched Harold & Kumar go to White Castle. Pretty
funny.
Day 14: Saturday Feb. 12, 2005
I walked through The Gates in
Central Park. The artist Christo and Jeanne-Claude installed over 7000 orange
gates with saffron curtains hanging down over 23 miles of walk ways in Central
Park. So I walked through those and drank my drink. Which turned an orange color
due to the amount of cayenne pepper I added.
Day 15: Sunday Feb. 13, 2005
Shot some spec commercials for these guys trying to get some real commercials
for the new Horror Channel that is about to debut soon this year. I played this
deranged cable guy who comes to install the Horror Channel in people's houses.
And because it's the Horror Channel there was a lot of blood and gore involved.
Day 16: Monday Feb. 14, 2005
I didn't let today depress me as it has in the past because I currently
without a love interest. Hopefully that will change soon. So just did my usual
fast routine of work, drinks, gym and home.
Not much has been happening really. I finished 2004 in one piece. Which after my drunken blackout night back in May is pretty good.
I flew home to Texas for a few days for Christmas. I flew on Delta Comair. That's the one that had all the problems during that time. I was delayed in Cincinnati, OH for a night which knocked out a lot of plans and put me in a haphazard mood for the rest of the trip. My grandmother is in a nursing home. She has dementia. She knows my name, but thinks I'm one of her brothers that past away years ago. One of the days I was there she had a bad day where she was questioning everything. She didn't believe most of the answers I was providing and ended up crying. Then I flew back to NYC to spend New Years. Went to a party with some friends. Had a lukewarm time mainly because I wanted to meet someone at the party and make out like I always like to do on New Years. But that didn't happen. So I haven't felt like I've started 2005 off with the bang I was hoping. Oh well.
But it's just one month out of the year. And I am looking forward to what might happen as the year continues.
I'm about to embark on a pretty cool mission. I'm starting a 10 day fast on Sunday the 30th. I will be drinking a lemonade concoction consisting of water, lemon juice, grade B maple syrup and cayenne pepper.
The purpose of this fast is:
Think I'm crazy? Maybe I am. But talk to me after the 10 days is over and I'll ask you to try it as well.
