Any girl over the age
of ten can become a Guide. They only condition is that she can understand
and is willing to make the Guide promise.
Guides meet once a week on Fridays and sometimes at weekends for some of our camps and more adventurous activities that require day light.
Our meetings include activities and games based on a progressive programme
that aims to support girls in achieving manageable personal targets that are often rewarded with badges. There are also opportunities to work for
interest badges that recognise achievement in many diverse areas including chocolate, cooking and team leadership.
At Guides we work together in Patrols. These contain between 4 and 8 girls
lead by a patrol leader. Any girl who has been a Brownie will recognise the system as being similar to that of sixes however at Guides patrols have much more of a say in the running of the company as well as planing its own activities with the
support of our Guide Guiders. Every member has a share in the decision making.
Guides wear a uniform and they can choose from a wide range of clothing
available from us at meetings. There is also variety of second hand clothing avaliable.
