Well since I am the oldest I
will tell you my story first. My name is Molly and I am a Golden
Retriever. My masters came to get me on a little farm in northern
Kentucky. It was a nice summer day when they came to get me and I was
playing with Mom and my brothers and sisters. I noticed these humans that
I never had seen before talking to the lady that took care of us. They
started to play with my Mom and then Mom started to play fetch with them.
They did this for the longest time. You see Mom really likes to play
fetch.
It was a little
latter the new humans started to look at us kids. We were playing hide
and go seek but they found us anyway. They kept staring and picking us up
but it was kind of fun. Then they started looking at me and talking to
the lady that cares for us. They took me away from the others and we went
on the porch.
It wasn't too long
when they took me to their car and we drove off. This was my first car
ride and I was just a little upset with what was going on. Well, I got
car sick and the ride was very long.
The humans said we
were home but it sure didn't look familiar. We went to the back yard and
I got some food and water. After that they gave me a bath and that was
sure fun. I really like to get in the water.
Woof, Molly you
are taking too long now I am starting my tale. I am Meagan and I am a Shih
Tzu. As for me I am a city girl. Born and raised in the city but I
too love the great outdoors. Of course I like it inside with the humans,
especially when it is real cold.
Now, when the
humans came to take me with them it was in the winter but it was not too
cold. The lady human had stopped by before and spent some time with us
but left and I did not see her again for a few days. That was when she
brought a man with her. They sat down and watched me and the other kids
play.
It had been a
while and they started holding me and it was nice. I really like to be in
a lap. They put me down and seemed as though they were going to
leave. They talked and stared at me and then they came back down to play
with me some more.
It was later I
took a short car ride with them and they took me into this place where I am
now. That was when I first met Molly. Golly, she was the biggest
dog I had ever seen but boy she was fun and still is too. Oh, we have
little arguments every now and then but we get along fine. Molly is
really nice to lie down with when it gets cold. Alright now
Megan, I want to continue my tale. Ahem, let me see. Did I tell you
that I like to play and I really like to play in the water. The humans
like to throw things and I just really love to 'go get' and 'bring back'.
That's what they say every time they throw something.
Did I tell you that I like water. I really like to play in
the water. The humans bought me a little pool and I go in it and pretend
to swim. I really wish there was more water for me to really swim but it is fun
anyway.
Did I tell you
that I like to play. My, oh my, do I love to play. When the humans
are not to tired we play fetch, I could play fetch forever. I just don't
understand why the humans want to quit when I am just warming up. They
say it is something to do with my tongue hanging out but what has that got to
do with playing fetch.
Woof, my turn
Molly! Molly you just never stop. Since Molly brought up playing
let me tell you what I think. Let us play, play, play. Now I have a
different version of play. The humans throw something and then they say
'go get'. No problem! I was going to go get it anyway. The
funniest thing about this game is when the humans say 'bring back'. No
way, Jose. Once I have something, it is mine. I get the biggest
kick when the humans take me and Molly outside to play fetch. The human
throws the ball for Molly to 'go get' and (snicker) I go get it first and run
away with it while Molly just stands there. Now that is
fun. Megan, I just
let you think that you got the best of me. Hmmmm. Say, did I tell
you that I really love to eat. The way to a Golden Retriever's heart is
to give it something to eat. Kibbles, dog biscuits, apples, marshmallows,
oh just about anything. Bring on the food and a Golden Retriever is
happy, happy, happy. I don't mean to slight the humans but they just
don't feed me enough. They say I will get fat, now can you imagine
that.
Molly!
Molly! The humans are headed for the kitchen!
Listen! I
hate to run before finishing our tale but a dog biscuit awaits. Catch you
later! |
