Super Mario Bros Deluxe
For: Game Boy Color
If you like classic Mario games, you will enjoy Super Mario Bros Deluxe.
It basically is the original Super Mario game with a bunch of added modes.
Its a real fun game. In fact, I think that this is the game I played the
most of all. Its for Game Boy Color, so I can take it anywhere.
The storyline is familliar to pretty much anyone with any interest in video
games. Mushroom Kingdom is being attacked by Bowser and his minions, and
its up to Mario to stop them. Short and simple. Not too elaborate, but still
pretty great. In the game, you can play as either Mario or his brother Luigi.
There are 5 modes: Original 1985, Challenge, VS Game, Super Mario Bros for
Super Players, and You VS Boo. On top of that, there are also 3 features:
Records, Album, and Toy Box. My favorite is the original mode. I had a lot
of amusement trying to outdo my previous score. However, I managed to get
a top score that cant be beaten, just tied. It is 9999990, to be exact.
and it wont go no more after that. How did I do this? Well, one of the levels
has a loophole that allows the player to get as much pionts as possible
without losing anything. Of course this requires a lot of time... but enough
about that, and if you want to learn more, send me a feedback. There are
ups and downs about getting that score. On the plus side, you get bragging
rights. The downside is that the game stops being fun. You know you cant
beat that score, so why bother.
The game has a lot ofdifferent objectives, depending on which mode you play.
The objective of the first mode is basically to pass each level, collect
coins, and defeat Bowser. The objective of the Challenge mode is to collect
3 different medals for each of the 32 levels. The tasks for acquiring them
are to gather 5 red coins, get the given score, and find a hidden Yoshi
egg. The objective of the VS Game is basically to beat someone else. Super
Mario Bros for Super Players has the same objectives as the original game,
but with somewhat different levels. The final mode is about outracing Boo
in 8 different levels. Every time you beat him, he changes color. I do not
know what happens when he is completely beat. As for the other features,
this is turning kind of lengthy, so I wont go into that. I cant really think
of anything bad about this game, exept that it gets kind of boring after
a while. i admit that I completely lost interest in the game after I got
the score I described earlier. Still, the game is fun for a while, as is
true with all material posessions.
So, If you hav a Game Boy Color, and are a fan of classic Mario games, I
highly suggest getting Super Mario Bros Deluxe for Game Boy Color. I think
it might also work on Game Boy Advance, though Im not sure. The game is
fun and challenging, without being too elaborated and confusing.
