The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
For: Nintendo GameCube
Now before I get started, I am going to set the record straight. The
graphics are good, they work perfectly, if you like Zelda, but are too
stupid to play it because of the graphics, then you are not worthy to
play it. Now that that's off my chest let's begin. Firstly you should notice
thet the game controls are almost identical to the Nintendo 64 Zelda games
(Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask) with one or two differences:
A - 'Z' Trgeting is now 'L' Targeting B - Instead of items on the 'C' Buttons they are on the 'X' & 'Y' Buttons.
This is in no way a bad thing, because this control system works so well. The story begins on the Islad of Outset where it is customey to dress boys in green on their coming of age ceremony and for one day to set out to find legendary blades to vanquish evil spirits, such as did the Hero of Legend. Our hero Link, has his coming of age ceremony on the day you begin playing, when a giant bird is seen carrying a young girl who is then dropped when a pirate ship shoots it down. Link, being the natural hero he is, sets out to find the girl on the island. After finding her the bird returns and takes Link's sister Aryll, so Link leaves Outset Island and joins the pirates on a quest to find his sister. Okay, so it wont win an Oscar for a story, but you will get drawn into the game as you continue to play it. Like I said earlier, the graphics are good, and I hope you will play the game and realize this, you will really not notice them after a while as you will get too absorbed in the game itself to care.
Overall - This is a good game, maybe not as good as Ocarina of Time but certainly one worthy of anyones games collection I give it a 9 out of 10.
