WOW!!!

I was never a believer in that whole Grobandust phenomenon.... UNTIL THIS MORNING.....

To start this story, I must tell you that I did not get to sleep until after 3:00 am this morning. So I thought I'd take a little "nap" before my flight at 8:30 this morning. Well, this morning started as a complete comedy of errors: 1) I way overslept until 7:10 - I set the alarm for 5:45 but didn't turn it on. 2) had a moment of panic that my flight was actually earlier than 8:30 and I'd be really screwed... 3) Checked my itinerary and saw that the flight wasn't until 9:30 - moron! 4) I didn't know I had to reserve the shuttle to the airport, so I had to take a smelly cab driven by a burnout chick cab driver. 5) I get to the airport, and there is a line about a mile long in front of the Northwest check in counter.

So I start the trek to the back of the line, when I stop dead in my tracks. Sitting there in the long line were Zack, Eric, and Craig from the band! Since I didn't talk to them last night in the tent, I decide to go say hello. I said "Hi guys! You were great last night!" They all said thanks. I introduced myself, and we shook hands all around. I asked if I could take a picture with them. I told them it would be our "I Hate To Fly In The Morning" picture. A very nice man behind them in line took our picture. They asked where I was going back to, so I told them Detroit. Zack asked "You flew all that way to see us?" I said "Oh, yeah!" Then they wished me a good flight, even though it would be shorter than theirs!

So I go to the back of the line all geeked out. Then I realize that this was the line for United, and the line for Northwest was next to the United line and it was really short. Yay for me. So I go up to the end of that line, and as I am standing there, I realize the person at the FRONT of the United line right next to me, is DAVID ROMANO!! And then I saw BRIAN AVNET!! I frantically looked behind him, and sure enough THERE WAS JOSH!!!!!

Truthfully, the first thing that crossed my mind, was "Holy SH**!!!" So as I am standing there like an idiot, they all turn around and start walking right towards me!!! So I kinda stepped out a half a step and said "Good Morning, guys!" They all kept walking, but said "Good morning!" I looked at Josh and said "You were fantastic last night!" (yeah, big conversational skills on me at this point....) He said "Thanks! You have a good flight today!" I said "Thanks! You too!" And then they were gone.... Or so I thought.....

As I am standing there trying to breathe, my brain slowly regained functionality and screamed out TURN AROUND AND SEE IF YOU CAN GET A PICTURE, STUPID!!! So I turn around, just in time to see Josh giving the guys a hard time for standing in line, so I go DIVING into my bag for my camera. I come up with it just in time to see Josh, Brian, and David just standing there facing in my direction... and then turn around and walk off!!!! GAH!!!

So I get this eerie feeling, and turn to look at the band. They are all staring at me with this hilarious grin on their faces. I looked at them and yelled "I WAS TOO SLOW! DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT!" They all burst out laughing....

So how freaky was that? The planets had be aligned JUST RIGHT for me to get my Josh encounter, and it happened! I'm just a little slow on the uptake with the camera! Gah! I will post the picture of me and the guys when I get it developed later....

For now, I am going to go beat my head against the wall for a few more hours....

oops - almost forgot to mention that Josh was wearing his glasses and the baseball cap, and I think even the same sweater he was wearing when the lucky Grobies saw him at his rehearsal in Toronto a few months ago. Damn, he was cute.....
