Supernatural

Toru was shaking, trembling while he waited for the doctors and nurses to finish their work, but he was desperate and went in to see what was keeping them so long. “Rai, what the hell is going on?”

“We’re loosing him, call Sachio and ask him to do research on 7’s blood. I believe we have no one in the hospital with his blood type. GO! If you want him to live, just call and stop staring, Sachio is the fastest!”

Toru stopped doubting and did as Dr. Kin ordered, but didn’t tell for who the blood was. “We only have Mareo, and a little girl called Lani with this type of blood…for whom it is? Is it for the girl? I know Mareo won’t mind.”

 “Is for 7…”

“WHAT???????????????????????? What you did to him?” He pushed Toru out of the way and quickly ran to the operation room. “Mareo! What happened, father?” He saw the scars, and the blood stained on their aprons, on the table, and even on the floor. “What have you done to him??!!!” Sachio burst into tears after knowing his friend was between life and death, the heart beatings were slow and there wasn’t much time left.

“Did you find someone? There’s no time to cry, get me someone, NOW!” His father yelled desperate- he was losing seven.

 “It’s just a little girl, father…she can’t donate her blood. She’s only 5!”

“I don’t care about the girl!” Toru cried out loud, get her now! We are draining all her blood if necessary.”

“We can’t! What if neither survive?” Rai was alarmed; he couldn’t just kill a little girl.

“He won’t die…if he does, you will too.” Toru gave the signal and in less than a blink the little girl was drugged and next to the sample’s body.

“No, you can’t!” Sachio couldn’t believe how far they’d go. He wanted for Mareo to live, but he didn’t want to sacrifice the girl. She was so small with long curly pink hair that probably fell to her ankles. Her face was beautiful and sweet, like taken out of a fairy tale. A little princess with a whole life before her, but then he though what was life for samples? ‘Probably even Mareo wants to die…’ “Don’t kill the girl, there must be another way.”

“Listen to me; you want your friend to live? I know you do, well there are very little people with Blood Type S, you must know that, so…we have no choice, is that or death.”

“But, father…” He cried. He felt trapped between his love and his reasoning and could only turn around and tried to believe he wasn’t there, and he didn’t know anything at all. ‘Ignore it, you didn’t see it, you don’t know, you are completely ignorant to this…’ As much as he tried to ignore it, his heart was under a battle torturing every though, every feeling, even every single breath. ‘Mareo wouldn’t allow it…please forgive me…’

The transfusion began; drop by drop they filled Mareo’s veins while emptying the little girl’s. Sachio stood beside her and held her other hand wishing she’d survive it, no, wishing both survived. The girl opened her violet eyes when they were half way the transfusion and looked up to Sachio wearing a smile. “I’ll be ok…better than here. Mareo will be happy as long as you’re with him…if not, he wishes to die.”

 “How…?”

“He told me…he says not to worry. I want to help him.”

 “But you can die.”

“I know…death is freedom.” She smiled one last time and then closed her purple beauties again falling into deep sleep.

 ~*~

‘S Type Blood…from where it came from? Poor Lani…she gave up her life so Mareo could have a tiny piece of happiness, because…because she didn’t have any. I hate this place, I hate it…I used to like it when I was completely unaware of what really happens between this walls. How can humans become monsters? I want to free the souls of the samples…maybe if we all work together we can free them.’ He smirked and decided to do research on each of the patients, their powers, their weaknesses, everything that can be helpful for a possible escape. It was a hard job to do, not only did he need to know how many samples there were, he needed to know all the exits, all the changes in turns, every single movement of the hospital at all hours and search for the best moment. He needed a perfect plan, but that wasn’t enough. He wanted to destroy the hospital- that was the most important goal of all. The destruction of Toru’s Empire was needed to finally end the torturing, the terror and agony of the unfortunate souls.

It was late, probably about 4 am and he was still on the computer, searching, recording, planning, and thinking. There were more than a three thousand samples on the hospital; it was practically impossible to get them out, so all that was left was…killing Toru. 'Would that end this? I doubt it…’

“What are you doing this late? You haven’t slept a bit…don’t be so nervous, your friend would be ok. He needs rest, but…” Sachio was ignoring him; he didn’t want to talk to one of the main members of the Supernatural project, his own father was a killer, a monster without a soul or conscience. “Are you upset? I know…you must be angry because of the girl, right? …Aren’t you responding?” ‘I guess he needs time…’ “Just to let you know, I’m not proud, and…I’m not happy.” He left with tears in his eyes, all he loved was his son, and all he wanted was to protect him and make him happy, but was sure that wouldn’t happen as long as they live under the ocean. “I’m just a fool…if I could leave forever…”

 ~*~

A week passed and Mareo was still asleep without even trying to open his eyes. No visits were allowed and Sachio could only see him through a monitor from time to time. “He needs me…why he doesn’t wake up?” ‘Maybe I’ll have to talk to my father…’ He looked for him and finally found him at Toru’s office arguing about some new tests they would be doing on a sample, at that moment he realized why his father was doing it- for him. He snooped and listened carefully to their conversation, after all he was an expert when it comes to snooping and sneaking around.

“You better do all I say…your son is very healthy, he would be a great sample.” He grinned and started mocking with laughter the doctor whose anger was obviously showing.

“I won’t help you…I’m not working at the lab again, not if it’s to keep torturing the samples, I would only do it to save them.”

“Very well…I’ll give the order right now. Your son is my new sample!” Dr. Kin was sweating as his boss pressed a button to give his order. “D, I need you to take care of my new sample…its Rai’s boy.”

“NO! I’ll do it! I’ll do anything, just…leave Sachio alone.”

“Forget it D…someone just changed his mind.” He smiled. “Then it’s settled, get to work Rai.”

“Yes…” After he left the room, Sachio followed and pushed him into a dark hallway. “What…?”

“Father…we have to do something, you can’t let him control you like that. Let’s get out of here now.” He remembered Mareo. “We have a few days until Mareo awakes, then we’ll get the hell out of here.”

“Mareo…is dying. Apparently he has no will to live.”

“But…” It was a shock; he though his friend was getting better but now he knew everything was just a lie. “What can we do? I want him to live! Why did you lie to me?”

“I think he’s depressed…probably because you haven’t visited him. I tried to convince Toru, but he refuses…he says he doesn’t need you.”

“Let me in father, even if he kills me after. Please, I need to talk to him at least for one second.”

His father hesitated before a final reply. “Ok. At 6 Toru goes to the cafeteria, he won’t be at his office so we are free to enter.”

“Then in an hour.”

~*~

“Mareo…wake up, it’s me Sachio. Please wake up, I couldn’t come…he forbid it. I’ve been watching you from afar, please come back so we can talk and I can show you the sky…please come back.” His tears fell down looking at how pale his skin was, how much his hair color has dimmed and how thin his body was. “I’ll do anything to take you out…please come back to me, you are my only friend…you…I…” ‘I love you.’

The heartbeats increased little by little until they were practically normal, his eyes slowly begin blinking trying to open entirely, but only tears rolled down his pale cheeks. Minutes after the sample opened his eyes and focus the blond man looking down at him with a smile and he responded the same way. “You came…you came.”

“I missed you…will you be ok?”

He softly nodded still wearing a smile on his face. “I’m so glad you’re here.”

“I am too. I’m so sorry I couldn’t help you.”

“It’s not your fault…will you stay beside me?”

He looked up to his father wondering, he knew it was forbidden for him to be there. “I don’t know…”

“I see…you sneaked in.” Mareo was sad to know he couldn’t stay and silently began to cry. “I don’t want to be alone…”

 “Mareo…”

“You stay with him, I deal will Toru.” The doctor quickly walked out to find Toru before he started attacking his son.

 ~*~

“Interesting, so the boy woke up after he came…that means he only wanted to see him.” ‘Sachio…for now you win, but soon…’ “He can stay with him; after all he is in charge of his health…anything for his recovery. Make sure he takes very good care of 7.”

“He will.” Dr. Kin felt glad Toru peacefully accepted and let his son know the news.

 ~*~

Mareo was sleeping and Sachio was sitting next to him holding his hand. He couldn’t close his eyes; he could only watch his friend dream and wonder what they were about. “I have to save you…I can’t let you suffer again.” He laid his head on the bed and met him in his dreams minutes after.

*** “Mareo? Mareo are you here? Mareo! Mareo!” A bright light blinded him and his eyes couldn’t focus, but  nonetheless, he kept walking toward the light until he saw a small figure standing in the light.

From far he could see his blue hair and grayish skin glowing like never before, his friend was smiling and running down a field of wildflowers looking up to the sky. He started jumping and laughing as he let himself fell back to the ground, he took a flower and smelled it yelling with happiness that he was alive. From where the young man was standing a bright smile shinned on his face with the pleasure of seeing his friend so happy. Mareo stood up again and started calling him so they could run together through the field. Sachio quickly ran to him and grabbed his hand to accompany him on his journey.

“Sachio! I’m happy, I’m so happy! And you are here with me.”

“I’m so glad to see you so joyful it gives me faith in this world, maybe there’s still hope for us.”

“There is…but until then…” He let go of his hand and his smile vanished appearing tears on his eyes immediately after. Suddenly the dream changed, Mareo was attached to a wall dripping with blood, his father was dead on the floor, Toru was next to Mareo holding a whip and laughing like a maniac while Sachio was held down by a few nurses.

 “SACHIO!!”

He was scared, filled with pain and anger and trying to break free, but it was impossible for him to move, then he was placed on the same table he saw his father once place Mareo and Toru was about to injected him with some substance while he yelled, then he woke up. ***

 “NOOOO!!!”

He panted heavily and felt a chill run down his spine, fortunately Mareo was still sleeping, but the fear in his heart was still there. ‘Why does it feel like a vision, it was so real…so real it frightens me. No, I can’t let things go that wrong…father…I have to get rid of Toru!’ “Was that the future? It can’t be! I won’t allow it, I will fight until…” ‘Until I free the souls of the samples forever from Toru’s grip.’

It was up to Sachio to change the future, he was the only one who could help the samples now. He was the only one with strength enough to go against Toru, he had the capacity to do it; he could easily hack into the system without leaving a single trace, after all he WAS a computer genius, it would be a hard job but not impossible. ‘I can fool them. I WILL fool them.’
