Besat: aka Possessed. Dir Anders Ronnow-Klarlund. Superb Danish horror starring Udo Kier. After a bizarre outbreak of a virus similar to Ebola, Virologist Soren Rastauw travels to Romania in order to to take samples from the first young victim to be struck down. Simultaneously the Copenhagen police are trying to track down a priest from a obscure catholic order who is suspected of a fire bombing spree including an attack in Romania. The two stories are most certainly linked, but what links them? The Devil himself! Excellent must See and supremely filmed! Widescreen Subtitled. (1999)

Crimson Rivers: Dir. Mathieu Kassovitz. Fantastic French thriller starring Jean Reno and Vincent cassel who's paths cross during seemingly distant cases, Cassel investigating misdemeanors and Reno, a vicious serial Killer case at an isolated University. A striking, stylish and well crafted thriller from the director of La Haine, full to the brim with atmosphere, suspense and intrigue, even Gialloesque at times! Excellent. Widescreen Subtitled. Cross of Iron: This is the longest version available of Sam Peckinpah's Classic WWII film. This version is totally uncut and includes extra profanity and violence not seen in any other version. It is also presented unmatted.
Crying Freeman: Dir Christophe Gans. Mark Dacascos stars as Yo, who has been kidnapped and hypnotized by the mysterious 108 Dragons cult. The purpose of the kidnapping? To turn Yo into the most deadly and efficient hitman the criminal underworld has ever seen The Crying Freeman. All is fine until Crying Freeman falls in love with a beautiful virgin and flees to Japan pursued by all manner of criminals and police forces alike. The fact that it is adapted from and faithful to the classic Japanese comic book and superb action sequences make this a must see! This is the French special edition with loads of extras, some of which are in French. Widescreen.
Cut-throats Nine: An army soldier and his beautiful young daughter are escorting a gang of vicious criminals to prison. They are ambushed by more thieves looking to rob what they believe is a gold shipment. A fight ensues with the would-be gold thieves being killed. With the wagon destroyed and the horses dead, the soldier chains himself, the savage killers, and his daughter together and makes tracks for the prison on foot through the snow covered mountains. when the prisoners discover the chains that bind them are made of gold! An explosion of desire ensues as the killers plot to kill their captor and split the gold. This is easily the most mean-spirited, hateful, gory spaghetti western ever made. Face Off: Face/Off. Dir. John Woo. Uncut Version. This is the original US version that contains a few seconds of John Travolta playing with a butterfly knife, which were cut from UK prints. Widescreen.

GunBlast Vodka: Dir. Jean-Louis Daniel. Widescreen (2000)
Hard Boiled: Criterion Laserdisc Edition. Virtually the same as the now rare and oop DVD version. This film as you would expect is totally Uncut, but it is the extras that are of value with this edition. Subtitled Widescreen.
Hard Target: Directors Cut: This is John Woo's original first cut of the film, and this is a Universal studios audience test print. It contains almost 21 mins of additional violence as well as complete new scenes and extensions of original scenes. It also contains a less 'cheesy' music score. This is how this film was meant to be seen and is a must for Woo enthusiasts. Time-coded, Widescreen. [BA]
The Hire: Series 1: Dir's. John Frankenheimer, Ang Lee, Guy Ritchie, Alejandro González Iñárritu. This is a series of short films from some of the worlds best directorial talent. Originally created for the BMW website, the films all center around The Driver, a man for hire that uses his skill behind the wheel for various dangerous and presumably highly paid jobs.

mins of extra footage. Mainly extends the middle segment of the film in which
Leon trains Matilda in the art of ‘cleaning’. Fantastic, really does deepen

The Marseilles Connection: Cool little Italian gangster/crime thriller from the early eighties. [BA]
The Mysterious Cities of Gold: This is the complete series of the much loved French/Japanese animation. Everyone knows the story, but for those who don't... It begins in the year 1532, telling the story of three children - Esteban, an orphan raised in Barcelona; Zia, a young Inca girl; and Tao, last descendent of the empire of Hiva, a continent which sank beneath the Pacific centuries earlier. The children are accompanied by the Spanish navigator Mendoza and two comic-relief sailors - Pedro and Sancho - on their search across the New World for the legendary Cities of Gold. The whole series is in excellent quality, both visually and audibly. For trading purposes 6 episodes per videotape therefore the whole series will come on and be equal to 7 tapes. Warner Bros refused to release. Contains loads of extra scenes as well as
extended scenes and an alternate/extended ending. Widescreen.
Scream: Directors Cut: You know the story! This is the US Unrated Laserdisc edition and contains a much more graphic version of the opening sequence with extended shots of gore. Widescreen.
Strange Days: Excellent turn of the Millennium action thriller. This is the FULL UNCUT version that has the rape scene in full (it was almost totally removed from the UK version) Includes Trailer, Widescreen.
Straw Dogs: UNCUT and UNRATED version of Sam Peckinpah's rural revenge thriller. Caused many years of hassle for the BBFC. Widescreen.
Terminator II: Ultimate Edition: This truly is the ultimate edition of this film. Not only does it contain violence cut out of the UK 15 rated edition but it also restores the 15mins of footage from the director's cut, PLUS an extended ending not seen in any other previous edition. Includes loads of extras and Trailer, Widescreen.
The Touch: Dir. Peter Pau. During a time of great unrest the Monks of Dur Huang hid the Shakira, a relic said to contain the elixir of life. To ensure that it could be retrieved in the event of it being needed, the Monks trained a family in the acrobatic art of retrieving it. Yet and English Art collector is after it for his collection. Michelle Yeoh's attempt at an Asian crossover film take it's inspiration from the Indiana Jones vein of films, although visually stunning, doesn't quite pull off the plot element. Liked by some hated by most, make up your own mind! Widescreen. (2002)
The Trip: Dir. Roger Corman. This is the rarely seen Roger Corman 'Acid film' which is basically a collection of wild trip sequences featuring Peter Fonda. Elements of this film were later seen in Fonda's and Hopper's Easy Rider. (1967)
True Romance: Directors Cut: Tony Scott's original uncensored version. Contains extra scenes of violence, especially during the scene in which Alabama is attacked in the hotel. Widescreen.
Vidocq: Dir. Pitof. Paris, 1830. Vidocq a policeman turned detective is fighting with a long term rival, the "Alchemist" who is suspected for the murder of three people. Vidocq looses the battle and disappears, his biographer then arrives in Paris and decides to continue the Vidocq's investigation. This is the first feature film to be entirely shot on HD Digital cameras. Subtitled. (2001)
Whistle and I'll Come to You: Dir. Jonathan Miller. Based on M R James' classic short story 'Oh, Whistle, and I'll Come to You, My Lad' and made for BBC's Omnibus programme. The story, one of James' bleakest and most chilling, is best and most enigmatically described by Director Jonathan Miller 'the winter holiday on the Norfolk coast, the mysterious whistle discovered in the sand, [and] the horrible animations of the bedclothes.' This superb BFI DVD includes an introduction by Ramsey Campbell and a personal reading of his story 'The Guide', inspired by the writings of M R James. Also included is a reading of the original story 'Oh, Whistle, and I'll Come to You, My Lad' by Neil Brand. (1968)
Yamakasi: Dir. Ariel Zeitoun. Prod. Luc Besson. The Yamakasi, the samurai of modern times are a real group of seven youths from a drab housing estate on the outskirts of Paris. They while away their time by perfecting their acrobatic skills and scaling the high-rise flats of their surroundings without use of any safety equipment. This film is primarily an outlet for the group to show-off their amazing daredevil stunts. The plot surrounds a young estate boy who is in urgent need of a heart transplant, but the medical authorities demand payment in full before noon the next day. Our heroes the Yamakasi proceed to use their daredevil skills in systematically robbing the opulent homes of members of the medical authority and subsequently escaping the police in order to raise money for the boys operation. Excellent! must see! Subtitled. (2001).
