Miranda Park is located 5km from the centre of the village
of Nerriga.
The area is steeped in history which dates back to the early days of
of NSW and Australian settlement.
Gold
was mined in the waterways and hills around Miranda Park, and local
lore says we have the graves of two Chinese gold miners on the property.
Gold was also panned from the Nudgengutta Creek, the northern
boundary of the property.
Our children have successfully
panned gold flecks from the creek directly in front of the house.
Nerriga Road (main road 91) from Nowra to Braidwood
was once called the "Wool Road", as it was the only access for
transport from the coast to Braidwood. Nerriga was the half-way point
for stage coaches to stop and spend the night at the Commercial
Hotel, one of the oldest Hotels in NSW.

The Hotel is still there, and it's still a great place to meet friends
and catch up on local news .
Also, a visit to the local Museum, housed in the old School
house, is an experience not to be missed.
