Nerriga and the surrounding district offer much to do for the whole family.

The village of Nerriga boasts a Caravan Park, Community Hall, Garage, General Store, Pub, Bush Fire Brigade Sheds and two churches.

It is also a very sports minded community with two tennis courts and a cricket pitch.

A prized district cricket trophy is hotly contested on this pitch each year.

 

 

The very active Bush Fire Brigade are a terrific and friendly group of locals and part-time locals.

The Nerriga Brigade recently put the village on the map, having won State wide competitions.

 

Every October the Nerriga Bushman's Carnival is run and people come from miles around to compete in horse riding events, chainsaw, hay bale throwing, and gum boot tossing competitions, to name a few.

The day closes with a good old fashioned family BBQ and Bush Dance. You haven't lived until you have been to a Nerriga country dance or to one of the other social events held in the community hall.

Nerriga is a true family village where they community spirit is alive and well.

 

 

Oallen Ford - a nearby swimming delight!

Oallen Ford on the Shoalhaven River is only 10 mins drive away, and offers the perfect 'beach' - clear safe water, white sand.

This is also a popular camping and gold panning spot.

 

 

Other nearby features include:

Charleyong - 20 mins away and another great spot for canoeing and swimming. Also a popular camping spot.

Morton National Park - 20 mins drive - bushing walking and hiking for the casual daytrip or more adventurous overnight journeys.. Enjoy the native bushland, mountains, valleys and scenic waterfalls.

Bungonia - 25 mins drive - A well known caving destination amongst speleologists. Caves for beginners to experts.

Braidwood - 40 mins drive - A thriving country town with many antique shops and restaurants. Also hosts an annual country Show.
