About Us Jef is a philosopher by training, a corporate citizen by profession, but an economist, sociologist and researcher by heart. As philosopher, he analyzes and synthesizes. He thinks within abstractions and categories yet tries to experience and act within the here and now. As a corporate citizen, he draws on his business and consulting experience to churn out revenues and enrich stockholders, to establish networks and climb the ladder of success: bottom line - to make ends meet. As economist, sociologist and researcher, he tries to decipher patterns, cycles, commonalities, and differences. He draws on theory, experiments, and derives insight in the process. BUT before you get the impression that Jef eats, drinks and lives his life in the biblioteque, hold your judgment. Away from all this page turning, Jef keeps his muscle from atrophying through the regular swim, the summer volleyball, and the Sunday tennis. He has a pretty decent foxtrot as well as a pretty gallant swing. A theater buff, Jef now warms the theater seats but once stood behind the stage curtain. Jef is a dichotomy: he loves to fly solo yet thrives on relationships; he is cautiously reserved in front of acquaintances yet is a complete looney to family and friends. Jef is just Jef, a guy who patiently pushes the envelope; who constantly raises the bar against which he gauges himself. He is by no chance perfect, just a restless soul who has found rest in the arms of a lovely woman. I guess he has found his way home. Fernview Sibal Llamas
Influence, charm, wit and sassiness: qualities that make men regurgitate in their seats are things which keep Fern up and about. A negotiator by heart, one would be impressed how she gets her own way in a situation. If only she puts this talent in areas other than shopping for those high priced non-essentials. If there is one thing over which you don't want to cross paths with Fern, it is her cooking. Devoted to perfecting her craft, she has elevated herself from cook to sous chef with only formal training keeping her from attaining the pinnacle of the gourmet weld. They say you could almost always hear her talking from 50 meters away, not to mention get agitated by the clickety clopping of her form-over-function heels. They say she can be very demanding and gets grumpily upset when her hopes remain hopes. What I can say is that beneath this seemingly stubborn and high maintenance mien, I see a person with a very big heart. Generous to other people, loving and affectionate to those she holds dear, and as vulnerable as she is strong. Fern is Fern and will always be Fern. How appropriate it is that she is named after a sea vessel, for she always keeps you afloat, and keeps your sail from listing to port. School and Careers Jef holds an MBA degree from Fordham University in New York. He is part of the Deming Scholars class of 2001, a specialized MBA program focusing on the teachings of W. Edwards Deming, noted Systems Thinker, Quality Guru, and Management Leader. He spent his college years at the San Jose Seminary, taking up philosophy at the Ateneo De Manila University in the Philippines. It turned out that a different robe and garb is meant for him, one that has more of a lay character. Jef is currently an Assistant Vice President with the Global Consumer Group of Citibank in New York. Fern holds Masters and Diploma degrees in Industrial Relations from the University of the Philippines (UP). For her undergrad in UP, she took up Psychology, a career she decided to take while looking at the stars on the rooftop of her home in Manila. That's why I don't believe in the aphorism that our fate is in the stars. Fern will begin her MBA studies at Columbia University in September 2003. Fern is currently a Human Performance Senior Manager with the Transportation and Travel Services Group of Accenture in New York.
